    I have nested groups of text frames and shapes that I copied. These groups were inside a layer in another group. I want to place these groups inside another layer and still retain the original groups---- but when I highlight the layer or place where I would like to paste this copy, it always ends up outside of all layers and also doesn't retain the groupings made in the copy-all frames and shapes get pasted as individual items on their own layer. Is copy/pasting groups not there yet?

    I have a large menu document that needs to have a pdf version that is full res and I also need a low res version needed for documentation, spec sheets, email, etc. How can I save out from my live version in AD and create these? Maybe in one operation.

    Yes I think this should be changed as well, with the implementation of text styles you can see how this can be confused for the other.

    Just that the brushes are fine in AD and AP, but I do see that there are drawing/painting apps that have more advanced features/control parameters that Affinity's might have to play catch up at one point. Look at Clip Studio, KRITA, PaintStorm Studio, Sketchbook. Art Rage, etc. These all have super tools that do give the artist more control. I find that this would seal the deal for lots of creatives. Just a thought nothing more.

    The resolution sometimes plays a part in this, make sure both docs are the same resolution. You can also copy paste with an empty bounding box where the box is the size of your canvas. That is almost always reliable.

    Trying to create a text style from a selected text frame and it's not adding it to any styles list. Is this not working yet?

    Why are the smart star shapes bounding boxes extend past the actual size of the shape, and therefore the overall shape size includes this too. This is not the case with other smart shapes.

    Also in trying out the HDR persona, why isn't the main window look like any of the preview presets when I choose them? The previews look rich and vibrant but the main window is "dull and bright".The main window is supposed to look like the default preset.

    Gonna have to do an old trick from Illustrator, create a blank non-filled, non-stroked canvas sized rectangle and carry it over along with your objects you need pasted in the other artboard. Been doing this for years in illustrator. (Not sure if even Illustrator allows for exact placements pastes with their later versions).

    Is it possible to drag and snap a copy yet in Designer? Using Shift to constrain and also making a duplicate I mean.

    Okay I see. I need to try it on a doc with many layers.

    I swear I must be getting old. So I'm reading about the new feature to no have highlighted the layer you have selected on the canvas in the layers panel. Wasn't this already happening?

    I believe that Affinity has a better tool for contours and blending for this down the line, not like AI's. I think it's going to be super and interactive, kind of like Corel's extrude with its live handles and wire frame previews. I predict something like this but in live preview.

    Create a style that has a simple drop shadow, but then turn down the opacity to zero. It would appear that the effect has been turned off when you reapply this to anything that had a previous effect of any kind. Now I'm not sure if this would work for everyone, and I have not tested this thoroughly but it has helped me out to get rid of the effects applied to an object quickly and also to command click several items that needed to be cleaned up to have no effect.

    I know AD doesn't do this. I am asking you to post this functionality in other apps you have seen that can do it. Pics, links, videos, anything.

    Can you please provide images or video links of this scaling, rotating of nodes that you speak of, I did a simple youtube search and I didn't see anything that stood out to me showing this.

    Yes it is on 1.4.2. I hadn't tried it on the latest beta.

    I sometimes make artistic text with dual lines that the second line may be a different font size, but I find it very difficult to select the second line to highlight and change. It's basically impossible. I can't put the cursor on the second line. Although this can be done with separate text boxes, or frames, I just wanted to make the devs aware that this is pretty hard to do. Thanks

    I use Image2Vector (free) does really good.
