I'm using the public release on the finished OS 15 and this is still a problem. Very frustrating making it a lengthy process to find files even though I'm very careful to name them with exactly what is in the file! Come on Affinity, this can't be a big one to solve.

Thanks for this, great idea. I get the error (have very few fonts installed so not that) after 3/4 saves so tried your solution. It has extended the number of saves I get before the crash, now getting 5-8 saves before it givers up the ghost. Am going to start emailing the support team if I can find an address if not will rewrite my 5 star review and see if that gets a response.

No Mac updates and is now 27/6/21 and still starting up quickly. -
Slow startup (all Affinity apps)

I updated the OS to 11.4 (Mac) the other day, I wonder if that's when the slow start-up times came back. Just a theory but ... If it slows down again I'll keep a careful note upgrades that precede a slow down. -
Slow startup (all Affinity apps)

It's the 12 June now and after a number of re-boots the load times have reverted back to 30 seconds again. A shame it had held until a couple of days ago. I've just re-copied the apps again and the load times are back down to 3 seconds. Annoying but it is quick fix! Only takes a minute or two. -

Tried the copying app suggestion. 30 sec load time reduced to around 3 seconds for all 3 Affinity apps. Fix works well and so far (after 2 days) load time has not gone back. also copy to desktop, then deleting from applications and dragging back over stops you have to change the name of the app. Doesn't really change the time it takes but have had problems with apps before when changing names. -
Hi, I don't use Designer very much so this issue maybe across all the apps. Photo and publisher keep telling me that that I don't have permission to save at the location I choose, but it appears to be all locations on my hard drive. I am using new Intel Mac with OS X 11.0.1 and affinity photo 1.8.6 and publisher 1.8.6. The save button also appears to be white so can't see the Save word inside it but I've seen another thread with that problem. The save location issue is intermitted but happens several times a day. I'll screen shot it next time it appears.

I'm about to buy a new Mac (changing jobs and losing my MacBook Pro) and can't wait for the new Apple Silicon. My question is if I buy an Intel Mac how long will you support Intel users and will new versions be built for both architectures? My second question is if I hold out for an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro (unlikely but a possibility) I believe the Affinity suite will work but under emulation but will it be slow as some of the blog sites are saying apps will run very slowly under Rosetta 2?
