I can understand that it could have cost too much for wider licensing.. that's 100% not a problem ... and locking it to affinity tools makes sense for marketing, ... but to not have additional licensing available by either business is quite odd.

@R C-R Since your reply feels more like a snark comment than a genuine question.. if you can't help and you're not capable of understanding the question not that this would be basic knowledge the business should have to provide.. it would be appreciated if you avoided posting. @carl123 Thanks for pointing out the correct place to post Carl. I'll remember that. .affonts are locked to Affinity tools. Hence your post is missing the point. I can not use an .affont in a website.

Well, to contact their sales, I need to accept their newsletter. That's absurd. So, I searched their fonts.. and they don't have "Cynder" listed. @ Affinity team : please help me understand what is happening here. Why are these fonts locked to Affinity tools ?

@R C-R - Yeah, I must have glazed over this part. "renowned Monotype foundry" The web/other licensing for these fonts is not readily available, hence the post. So I will email them directly.

Hi, I love the Affinity suite. I have the Publication Fonts Package. I have a small business client that likes a design with the Cynder font found in the Publication Fonts Package. The Cynder font is currently licensed only for use in Affinity tools and it is an .Affont file. How can we obtain a license for website use ? (without the need to export as curves) Thank You P.S. I do understand and I don't understand why these fonts are "Affinity" only. This is caveat extraordinaire! ❤️

Hi Paul, (I love the available "screen estate" of 4k.) Whether by ultra high res on large screens or just High DPI/PPI .. improving usability is the focus obviously. Since you've been through this frustration.. would you take a moment and consider what you would suggest to resolve such aspects ? I would like to use 4k more often for several reasons, but even with Handles set to large the process is just too ..hmm..intricate .. to grab handles/anchors. I hope this thread turns into a discussion of improvement-direction.. We all know these types of irksome-aspects exist... if we can help Affinity find great resolves.. then we all benefit.

Hi Bruce, This: ensure fill color selector/register is activated/in front of stroke UI component , then remove or change color. Becomes this: remove either color for fill / stroke without extra clicks to set primary/active UI component.

That part was about 'not needing the OS to adjust the scaling' .. you can remove any and all remarks about the OS if it helps to make sense of the specifics. Hello, I love Affinity tools... otherwise I would not spend the time making these suggestions. Adobe defined most of the graphic program UI/UX paradigms in the 90's. Adobe is outdated. - Below we have two examples and I could provide 100 examples (almost all point back to Adobe Paradigms). I would like to beg on my knees that the Affinity team considers changes. If Affinity is open to the idea, I would make a thread of suggestions like these.. that I can add to as I encounter considerations. I believe Affinity is close to being able to take certain markets and I believe simple changes like these will help sweep the people over here. Because in the long run, we want less click-drilling and less visual filtering. -- EDIT: The images below don't cover reference to PPI/etc. as I tried to keep this simple for now.. however it is nice that the thread mentioned this as it allowed me to keep this post less cluttered. Someone else kindly mentioned the MSIX and MSI difference. Thanks for the info. I wasn't paying strict attention when installing to that laptop. .. AKA: was a "ten things at once" kind of day. Having a workspace preset system that goes cross plat would be great.. don't get me wrong, it's not the end of the world.. but if I think about modern processes and different artists / friends/ etc .. some do lay out the hierarchy of shapes and then shade them... then images, then text ... So having multiple preset spaces easily ported(and maybe even easily selected (like 3dsMax has a drop menu).. that would be stellar. Thanks Dan!

good point. I didn't pay attention during laptop install. I probably did use the MSIX(obviously I did).

( I love Affinity ) I setup painstakingly configured "Presets" aka: Workspaces, in Publisher and Designer in Publisher and Photo in publisher, using Win11. I sometimes need to use my macbook while on the road instead of taking along my main win11 laptop. (No sense in taking both with me.) I Would like to port my workspace settings to the macbook for those odd times I need to use it. I was able to port the "\Workspaces\custom" XML files from my win11 desktop to my win11 laptop. That worked out well. .. but on Mac, the files are ".preset files" instead of .xml files.. and they appear to be binary(which is overkill♫). Is there a way to share my workspace presets between platforms ?? I simply don't want to go through the setup process again because it took 5 attempts to get right on the desktop due to crashes and dark magic moves. From reading the forums on this topic.. I think people would like an export / import presets/workspace-layouts option. Thank you. P.S. My win11 desktop has these .xml files in: %AppData%\Roaming\Affinity\Publisher\2.0\Workspaces\Custom\ My win11 laptop has these .xml files in: %userprofile%\.affinity My Macbook has the .preset files in: \Users\<user>\Library\Application Support\Affinity..

Just in case someone needs this info.. my win11 laptop uses: %USERPROFILE%\.affinity but my win11 desktop uses : %appdata%\Roaming\Affinity\Publisher\2.0\Workspaces Just in case you look and don't find it in %USERPROFILE%

Hi Lee. Thanks for the reply. I was frustrated and I am glad you didn't take it personally. As for that post referenced.. all I get from that is that people are telling Affinity that we don't like the forced border and Affinity is replying with; MLEH. We just don't want a forced border. Any veteran/skilled dev will agree. -> Non-optional borders on critical UI is a persistent harsh irk. What if the border color(RGBA/Alpha is the point there) was configurable (globally) ? • As for the layers issue, I made a note to make a video to send in to Affinity. (I was under a rush so I had no time that day.) There's people talking about some of the issues somewhere.. I forget where at the moment. Here or Reddit. • Changes to Export window : Good to know. I still love Affinity Suite 2, but ugh... the issues 1. FOUND IN: Designer, Publisher, maybe in Photo as well. the border around artboards/palettes/canvases/whatever you call it.. THIS DRIVES ME INSANE AS I NEVER KNOW IF the edge is showing an error from my work or the program is just not fully thought through... NO BORDERS! EVER! Screenshot showing the PS grid.. .. a zoom-in in Aff Designer2/Publisher2.. notice there's no stupid border ?! 2. FOUND IN: Designer, Publisher, maybe in Photo as well. A. moving layers around with artboards being used.. the layers jump up and down the layer stack and become auto grouped and or placed into artboards. JUST STOP IT ! B. When moving multiple layers up and down in the layer panel using a mouse.. , ..there's too many issues to report this is excessively bugged. 3. Exporting from the programs Let us turn off the Export-panels' rendering preview!!!!! I have huge EPS exports that cause my system to hang from your bad decisions! Let us turn off the preview I'd add more, but I doubt you'll even care about these.

ok, but why is this happening ? Why do I want you forcing my layer into a group ? Why can't I turn this off ? Why do I even need to ask these questions ? This is all kinds of bugged.. try it with multiple selected layers, they visually move to a group but stay in layer position.

bump. Aug 2023.. need metadata in EPS file from Designer. Also, ticking and unticking metadata checkbox shouldn't make Designer rebuild the entire file. THANK YOU!

Hi, I understand that an API can be alot of work for a small team. .. but the payoff of having an API would be immense. Please consider this. There is so much that the userbase can create to help one another make Affinity's great tools, even greater'er'er. Thank you If you have this in motion.. please contact me to join in testing and feedback. I will inform you of my experience and provide examples of my 3rd party tools that won't disappoint.

Jowday, you obviously missed the point .. the name of the product has "Photo" in it bud. -- @ALL: Who here enjoys being shamed for wanting a 200X Standard Digital Paint Tool Feature to be implemented in a program in 2020 ?! AKA: the pointless, shaming "Assistant" popups. ffs. srsly. -- If only Adobe wasn't such a sloppy hot mess of an invasive resource hog.

I found a "sometimes-workaround" which is nonsensical. - I copy paste the selection.. if it doesn't work well... I move what is to be selected 1pixel in any direction. Then I try again. This has worked 90% of the time.. but has required 3-8 pastes on average to get working **AND** I have not tried this on large selection areas. The more I use AffPhoto, the more I think it was only built to tweak photography.. as photographers probably enjoy this silly unavoidable auto-feathering.
