But lest anyone under-appreciate the significance of this feature, here's a simple example of what I'm talking about in the context of your billboard question:

So you see, such a feature set does indeed facilitate "rotation on multiple planes".
Although this is an entirely 2D construction method, and although there is no "live" rotation connection between the default isometric and the custom dimetric grid presets, it's still quite practical in terms of expedience and its result is just as geometrically correct as if it had been generated by a 3D CAE program. This is what I meant in saying that isometric and dimetric (and trimetric) methods can actually be used together in the same drawing. They are not separate, unrelated arbitrary conventions. The grids feature will help you do that.
And much more. The above is fairly trivial. Axonometric drawing is not just about drawing "boxy" objects, or using "clever tricks" to "project" flat designs onto a plane, like the ubiquitous mockup of a cereal box which is all many illustrators with little exposure to isometric drawing mistakenly think it's about. The axonometric grids will be just as useful for constructing mechanically-correct parallel perspective drawings of objects of any shape, and the opportunity it represents to commercial illustrators is significant.

Images you place onto the document (by drag/drop, place etc.) do usually have internally the size of the initial orig image file, no matter if you resize/transform it to tiny one or not here. Further the Affinity file format itself uses also compression when storing it files. In order to get smaller file sizes you have to keep track of what image sizes you import here, meaning if you just need in your document tiny image sizes of let's say some stars or the like etc. don't import/place highres images of these then. Size them down before import/place to keep their file size smaller or use some compression which still fulfills your needs.
AFAIK there is no such indicator which would show you how many bytes a certain layer may occupy or which portion of your document takes the most internal space/size here.
An embedded file can contain an entire document -not just images-, thus also shapes, text, layers etc depending on the type of your embedded source. So it can contain more than just one layer and also keeps to be in sync (updates accordingly) when altered.
It depends, if you want to have those objects synchronized (update together accordingly) or not etc. If you want to update all of them at once add them as a symbol which you can reuse multiple times, use the Symbol panel. - If they are just clippsed image textures those style you want to reuse or assign to various objects on demand, then set them up as a Style in the styles panel. If they are objects you need often over and over, then set them up as custom assets via the assets panel.

I assume Affinity Publisher, like PagePlus X9, will have some sort of "text import" tool. I'd like to humbly request that this tool include an option to import Markdown texts.

I do all of my pre-publishing writing in Markdown. It would be fantastic if I could simply import the .md files themselves and have Affinity Publisher convert the text into appropriate styles, build tables, etc. This would be a huge efficiency boost to my workflow.

I'm already waiting to buy Affinity Publisher the day it's released. But this small addition would be the perfect icing on the cake!

I've updated it now - if you got it earlier, probably best to download again for the sake of it!

This one is for Steve …

It’s nice to see the light UI develop! Well, here is a basic observation regarding the main framework of the light UI. I have noticed that some of the background greys have changed since the last iteration. But I still have a problem with the visual hierarchies, and I hope you will see this as well. I believe the background of the main toolbar in standard mode is too dark. Have a look at my illustration below. It should make clear that it would be beneficial to brighten the main toolbar background in standard mode, up to the point, where it conforms to the grey value of the main toolbar in full screen mode.

Furthermore, I would suggest that you care for the inactive state of Affinity Photo as well. It looks a bit heterogenous at the moment, compared to the standard macOS interface.

    Hope that makes sense …
    Cheers, Alex

I draw an Object, convert it into a symbol and add 2 instances of the symbol to my drawing.
    1)
Now selecting one of the symbols (not the object inside the symbol) and transforming it with the move tool just this instance changes it's dimension (OK)
Selection the Object within the symbol and transforming it - all instances change accordingly
    2)
Now selecting one of the symbols (not the object inside the symbol) and changing the colour of this symbol ALL instances changes it's colour (???)
Selection the Object within the symbol and changing colour of it - all instances change accordingly
    ---
To be consistant, the behaviour should be either 1) or 2) for both way to change attribute ... but not differently for dimensions or colour ...
    Cheers, Timo
