erickp got a reaction from Hekselsior in Affinity Equivalent to Adobe PS Smart Objects?
Photoshops "smart objects" is huge. Having that ability in AP, and even better, the ability to open a PS document in AP, then have it retain those "smart object" layers in whatever form Affinity decides to implement it would be essential. I honestly can not commit entirely to AP until they make this happen. I have too many PS files with "smart objects" that completely switching to AP is not even a possibility. I know there is a lot more going on in the backend, but primarily when creating a new "smart object" and/or importing as a "smart object, they are embedding it in the current one and it is assigned a unique identifier. This way, the original isn't affected, but you get a real full copy when you double click on it. Hope you guys can make this happen. I would LOVE to switch for good.

It's an odd behavior and not sure what the cause could be. Perhaps something to do with "line breaks" created within PS and not being interpreted correctly in AP. Curious to hear if they figure it out. Thank you.

erickp got a reaction from Willy Pimentel in .PSD to Affinity Photo - Smart Object translation?
When opening an existing .PSD into AP, I notice that the "smart objects" get converted to "Pixels" i'm assuming.  In the original .PSD within PS, some of my Smart Objects are connected to Vector Objects and another can be a layered .PSD file. Is there a way to reconnect these files when opened within AP?  I want to use Affinity Photo but I make heavy use of Smart Objects with in Photoshop and if I can find a somewhat simple way to convert these over, it going to be difficult to transition. With that said, I think you've all done an amazing job with it and really do want to switch but as a professional with a business i can't sacrifice too much time in a transition. Thank you.

I would love to see a "path panel" equivalent.  I utilize it often on my end.
