First of all I would like to say: I like the Affinity Suite products, I work with them professionally, I recommend them to my collegues. And of course, I immediately bought the V2 Suite - not least to support Serif - the price for their products is more than fair. However, I am disappointed with this version 2 - after the long time in which the competing products such as PS, AI and ID have developed much faster. I was expecting a bigger leap, maybe some AI features (like sky replacement (like in PS), tracing to vector, depth of field adjustment, ...) Or a DAM!!! After this long time and after this announcement I really had expected something big.

I'm working with HP Pen on HP x360, as Tablet - flipped the Keyboard to the back. With HP Pen Control, its only possible to assign the Pen Buttons to ctrl OR to alt. So it's not possible to press ctrl+alt. It woud be very useful and helpful, if one could chose for Example only to use strg with pen up and down and left and right to control brush size and hardness.

On exporting a press ready PDF from publisher, my placed afphoto image is showing at a very low resolution when I open the generated PDF file. If I use png exported from the same afphoto it's okay and sharp. What is strange: If I make in the afphoto the upper lying group (that is set to invisible) - that covers only part of the image - in the afphoto image visible, then the whole pdf is sharp, too, if I make it invisible, every part of the placed afphoto in pdf is blurry. I found out: This occurs only if the placed afphoto image is set to 72 DPI - no matter that the pixel size is sufficient, as it shows - in Resource Manager - a "placed DPI" of 560dpi. I reproduced the same with Photoshop and Indesign (CS4) and it worked well as I am used to, even if the psd-file is set to 72 dpi. Only the pixel-size matters. That's what I expect.

Linked Resources (other afpub, pdf and images) seem to be linked with absolute path? They should be linked with only relative path. It's necessary to be able to move the afpub document with subfolders for assets, ... to another place and easily keep the links. I don't want to be obliged to reassign it at all if the relative structure is consistent. This product should get better than indd. There, you have to reassign one file and it looks for the oher missing links in the same folder and recognizes it. I dream to have a much better software with Affinity publisher.

I admit, you're right as I now understand what you mean with "global layers". I thought, this sort of layer would literally not be "global" but rather local. But Layers that can group oher Layers already exist. So why not add the ability place guides in a layer, Guides that inherently are not to be printed, but by switching the Layers' visibility on and off, you could exactly chose, which guides or guides groups you want o use.

Scaling Images with constant aspect rate works without SHIFT. Scaling some assets with constant aspect rate works without SHIFT. Scaling other objects (curves, Rectangle) with constant aspect rate works with SHIFT. (here, without SHIFT you can change aspect rate. This behaviour is inconsistent and should, in my opinion, be standardised. suggestion05.mp4
