  1. Thanks, MEB. I just discovered that the 3-4 second glitch was caused by the Assets panel that I have docked - being more specific, it was a certain set of icons that was slowing everything down.
  2. Hi, The problem exists across all Affinity apps. When I'm in fullscreen mode I can't close the app by pressing the red close btn. I have to do it from the dock or by exiting fullscreen first. Not something major but it is a bit annoying. I believe this is a bug, not a feature? I'm using macOs Mojave but it is the same on HighSierra. Regarding performance - every time when switching between personas Designer and Photo are freezing for about 3-4 seconds.
  3. Hi guys, I was trying out Publisher in my last project at work. First I have created a brochure in InDesign and then I recreated it in Publisher. I really like the Affinity workflow and I find all of their apps much more user-friendly and better performing as well. As I'd love to ditch Adobe for good, my goal here was to compare the final result between two programs. Basically, I wanted to check if it is safe to start using Publisher for a day to day tasks - don't worry, I know it's beta :) Here is what I'm struggling with - if anybody has an antidote, please let me know :) - Color management: I've created both projects using the same color specs - Fogra39 in InDesign and Publisher. Unfortunately the print-ready pdfs differ a lot. Despite having the same settings, the Publisher-made pdf looks rather poorly, especially blacks (they seem brown-grey-ish). Another thing: b&w cmyk photos used in this project were exported as negatives for some reason. And finally - all color transitions (eg. gradients) look really badly, whereas the InDesign output pdf was ok. As I said, I kept the same settings as in InDesign but ended up with very different looking files. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Is there something I can change in settings to make it work? Any ideas and suggestions would be much appreciated. - The second thing that disturbed me was the output file-size. So, it was a 14-page brochure with images, text, and shapes (as in most of cases). The press-quality PDF made in inDesign was about 4mb. The one made in Publisher - 18.5mb. Same as previously, I kept the same export settings. Thanks for any ideas on how to approach the subject.
  4. Hello everyone, it's my first post on Affinity forum. I love Affinity software and I thought that I could continue this thread, as I've got the same problem in Photo and Designer (the newest update) as well. The screen flashes black when I'm using certain tools (named by tea26) and hovering the pointer over brushes types on brushes panel (it happens especially with texture brushes). I bought AP and AD from App Store and I'm working on OS X El Captan (10.11.6). Here are my machine details: iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015) Intel Core i5 3,1 GHz, Memory: 8GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Graphics: Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 1536MB I hope that you will find these information helpful in further development. By the way, I found a temporary solution to this problem (however it's not working 100%). I increased the mouse pointer size a bit in system preferences and it seems to be working. Well, it doesn't solve the problem entirely but at least the screen is not flashing every time I'm using brushes. But it is a bit awkward to use a bigger pointer though... :)
