rad got a reaction from JanickoSlniecko in Ctrl + click/drag select/copy in Affinity Designer
I guess you want to keep it like that, but could the ctrl + drag command be made less sensitive?

It runs the ctrl + drag command if you move the mouse 1px. Maybe change it to 5px before it runs that command.

If someone wants to make a 1px copy, maybe ctrl + arrow keys could be easier.

    Thanks.

It would be great if we could import multiple (svg/eps/pdf/ai/png/jpg/gif/etc) files into the assets panel.

It seems to be related to the blend gamma setting of the text

Setting the blend gamma to 2.2 seems to cure it

We are pleased to announce the second update for Affinity Designer for Windows (version 1.5.2).

The update is described here and can be downloaded from here. Once downloaded, close Affinity Designer and run (double click) the downloaded EXE to install it.

To install this version you will need to have the Affinity Designer for Windows already installed OR you will need to type in your email address and a valid Product key when prompted. When installing on top of an existing version you will not be prompted for the product key. If you need it you can find your product key (and a download button) in your Affinity store account, where you will also find the email address used to generate the key when you ordered the software.

If you have installed any previous customer beta version of Affinity Designer 1.5.2, it can be safely uninstalled before or after installing this release update, they are independent installs. The beta will stop working soon anyway.

Please report any problems you have installing or using this new version in the Windows forum here

It does this already, unless I'm misunderstanding something - select the "Show selection in layers palette" in the User Interface section of the preferences.

I'd like to request that when I select a layer with the move tool or the node tool on the canvas that the layers panel scroll to the selected layer or group automatically so I can easily work with the layer. With lots of layers in the document it becomes a pain to have to scroll to find it or to use "Find in Layers Panel" for each layer I'm working with.

I want an 8px radius on a 960px sq box ... Now I gotta do math and stuff. Talk about a workflow/process drain.

No need to do the math … just tick the Absolute Sizes checkbox to enter absolute pixel values (dependent of your document settings, of course; make sure to use pixels as document units there) …  :)

I asked about this back in 2015 and didn't get a response.

This is the only thing that keeps me from dropping Adobe Illustrator. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to happen.

I’m a type designer and like to test my fonts in Affinity apps. There is one problem. If you re-install the same font with slight changes in Font Book, the systems font caches are corrupted. For me that means cleaning them and restarting every 10 minutes. Indesign (and all Adobe design apps) have the ability to load fonts from a folder in 'Application Support/Fonts' and from a 'Fonts' folder that is next to the document (the later option makes it much more convenient to work with different people on the same file). As soon as you change the font, Adobe apps will reload it and update the document.

MacOS provides great APIs to activate fonts per app so this is technically possible.

I'm on Affinity Designer Beta for Windows, and I must say I'm blown away by how good it is, but lack of separated font folder is a deal breaker for me. Installing all your fonts (around 4000 in my case) into a system is really "no go" on Windows OS.
    Reasons:
    Lot slower boot-up time
    Bloated operating system
    Unnecessary memory usage
Some other applications are loading all the unnecessary fonts for them that way....

It would be great if you could create separate folder somewhere in the Affinity directory for the fonts that will be used only with Affinity applications. Adobe has it, you should definitely have it.
