In photoshop I can modify channels directly. For example, I duplicate a channel then modify it with curve, level or even the brush. Then I load the modified channel as selection. In Affinity Photo, how do I modify channels freely as I do in photoshop and load it as selection?

Hi, bleduc. Thanks for your attention. Yes, the global layer effects switch is only useful when the layer has multi effects. And I test the trick you've suggested: the above rectangle's shadow disappear in the overlapped area of the two rectangles. This is different from layer effects on sperated layers. There is difference between the two methods.

Now if I want to view a layer with/without layer effects, I enable/disable them one at a time. A global layer effect switch for each layer is time saving. Here is how Photoshop does. For reference. Affinity Designer 1.5.0.36 Windows 7 64 bit

I drag a symbol "btn" into symbol "head"; on the layer panel, the "btn" is indicated not fully synchronized. I expect it keeps synchronized as I don't modify it at all.

There are 2 symbols "btn" in the symbol "head". If I delete one of the "btn"s, the other one is deleted. How do I delete just one of them? test file.afdesign

I'm running AD windows 1.5.0.36 and have been receiving update notice. Clicking the download button opens the buying page of windows AD. I've brought AD Windows yesterday and was offered a download link in my accont for 1.5.0.36. why do I receive the update notice but don't get a new version?

+1 1. 45° snapping is a very basic feature as a vector editor. I can't understand why AD provides it only when creating a node. 2. feature i'd like to see in AD.

When I left click on a bar in layer panel to select a object, layer effect automately adds to the object. And this click became very slow, about 1 second to take effect. Not all AD files occur, but it happens often. It seems complicated files has high rate. AD Windows 1.5.0.31 Windows 7 64

When almost finished, I checked the layers&object and was shocked by so many repeating objects. Which I found late is caused by unwanted ctrl+dragging.

Normally I choose one as daily use. the other one actually is abandoned. So an option to enable/diable them makes sense.

When Ctrl+clicking to select the object, very tiny mouse movement triggers object duplication. I've posted in Feature request here(https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/27620-disable-ctrldrag-duplicating-objects/), hoping an option to disable ctrl+clicking to select objects. TonyB said this is a bug, and suggested me to repost this problem here. Any improvement is appreciated. Thank you.

In common situation, when a user use ctrl+click to select a object, he needs to move the mouse some distance. He very possible moves mouse very fast, untill the cursor arrives the target, then click. Here is the key, the moment he clicks, the mouse very likely doesn't fully stop. I guess this is what causes the slightly movement and triigers dragging by AD.

It was Affinity Designer windows 1.5.0.29 and I was using logitech G100s mouse. I tried on another PC with a different mouse, got the same problem. Very slightly movement causes duplicating. I believe you can repeat it on your device.
