  1. I don't see any dithering, not in the screenshot.png or in the saved .jpg. The screenshot shows how the colors are shown on my calibrated enviroment.
  2. And why You would do this in Tex? An grphic orientant workflow with live control is in m.o. the better way. There is no only one thing to do – there are many, so the workflow for a new and modern publishing app may be so easy as possible.
  3. I'd like to know that too. Best with 400 addresses from a csv-file.
  4. Yes, the Serif Team does agreat job but important things like footnotes, anchoring pictures, and. . . are missing. I hope that everything will be implemented in the final version. Otherwise the Publisher is for me not professionally usable.
  5. Without footnotes, I don't have a chance to do some of my commissioned work. See picture.
  6. It can be so easy. Why Serif don't look at ??? It can be handled a better way? Or NO? In German: Macht es doch besser! Jetzt ist die Gelegenheit!
  7. Footnotes/endnotes a must have feauter like daily bread. +1
  8. Hi, I'm not able to get a PDF with Bleed. See the screenshots.
  9. O.K. I studied graphic design at university, then successfully completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter, book and offset printer. The crowning glory was then the Industriemeister Druck. For about 10 years I ran my own print shop. Since I officially retired, I have been working from the home office for various publishers, companies and occasional customers. My entry into DTP was the Pagemaker, then a jourey over Calamus, Pagestream, Corel, Quark and finaly ID. The Opensource thing I followed and try to work with it, but I give up. Today I use everything that delivers a fast and professional result. AFPublisher has good approaches, but did not call in the professional designer to help develop the software. Serif should have taken a look around the competition and also take its own experiences from PPlus with in. And a format that should work in all three applications will certainly not make it any easier for the publisher.
  10. This function is not only useful for flyers but also for book covers. I often have books produced with hardcover and/or softcover for the same book. This changes the strength of the back. If I design three pages and arrange them according to my printing form, I do not have to adjust the whole layout but only the page with the spine. I am absolutely in favour of this function. Contemporary design software is inconceivable without it. So +1 for this.
  11. O.K. lets get the conversation in english so other users can follow it. As I am self-employed and work for various publishers and agencies, I have to know, master and unfortunately also pay for all relevant programs. Surely Affinity offers a lot for little money. I'm willing to spend more money and get the full performance for it. It is good that the beta of the publisher has finally appeared but the current claim is not given. It is missing at all corners and ends. One should have taken some more time to bring out a product with essential functions. So this is a nice gimmick but not professionally usable. Sorry for my bad english, it's not my mature language.
  13. …and what is with the bleed-thing? Will it be fixed? Maybe in the next century?
  14. All right! I'm not the stupid little German who can only work with one program. But you missed the claim to make a better DTP program. PDF import, incorrect since AF-Designer. Performance of the Win applications is terrible, Adobe and all other manufactors of software bring better performance. I don't want to be negative now but except for AF-Photo it's more of an amateur suite and not for professional use. A horror is the missing bleed view since the beginnig of AD until know no fix. In Designer still nothing. It looks like I'm not going to be a big fan of Affinity. A lot of positive things would have to happen to change it.
  15. I can't understand why the loyal Windows fans of the Plus series are so offended. Neither in Designer nor in Publisher are filters for the Plus series. Have I thrown my money away all this time? Ten years just gone? No possibility to continue using my data? If it is, thank you, Serif. Unfortunately, as always, the old has to make way for the new. But this is not always better. I will follow what happens but I will work with proven tools.
  16. Wow, thats poor. I have tons of books I created woth PPublisher and now? All work again? You dont think I'll do this. You will say you can't create a tool to convert native PP-files into Publisher? Is that thru? The way to do with PDF is very pale. The PDF import in this Version (and Designer too) is very faulty. The others outside do a better job.
  17. Thakns Alfred for Your kind words. I'am just working on an old catalog for Letterpress-Printers form the 40th where my Granpa made the drawings. My Goal is to vectorize each drawing like the original. I'll pots some of them here. Sure!
  18. I want to bring you an other side why I wont this feature in Affinity Designer. I do many drawings for replicate old woodcut drawings. The clients wish clear vector-data. What is to do? 1. Scann and then vectorize, but how? The client will have a vectordrawing for i.E. got a laser cut or do on a mechenical … 2. Scann and make a trace is fault. Everebody know it's not the same. 3. Redrawing it. And yes I redraw all drawings in vector. For this I use often AI, Xara and Serif DP X8. After cleaning it up, the drawings are ready for laser cut or bring on film for other purposes. The wonder is the scalabalitty, because is vector. The using technique is „shape builder brush/tool“ So PLS ad it in Designer too. Here is an example of my work done in Xara with its shape builder tool:
