  1. Deleting a guideline requires to pull the line out of the canvas (or delete it in the guides manager). I would like to have an additional opportunity: deleting by taking the guideline (you see a little line with arrows) and pressing the „delete“ button of the keyboard (like in CorelDraw).
  2. Hi Adam, I tried it. I can drag the rotation center to the center of the image and rotate your object. But snapping is not possible (although snapping is enabled!!). When I enable "show snapping candidates" in the snappinger manager, AD slows down extremely. I must shut AD with the task manager.
  3. Because of an error in my first leaflet, I have replaced the old file by a modified file in the above post.
  4. Please don't forget the double click on the guides manager (unfortunately in ADwin 1.5.0.12. it is not implemented).
  5. I also lived the experience by installing net.framework 4.6.2. Some minutes nothing happened. But no problem by installing the pure ADwin. My ADwin (1.5.0.11, Windows 10) starts in about 6 seconds. (Windows started, then ADwin started)
  6. I could install 1.5.0.11, but it took a very long time while installing net.framework 4.6.2. Some minutes nothing happened.
  7. Hi Matey, I tried it - with the corner tool I have no problem (AD 1.5.0.10) to draw rounded corners.
  8. I created a test file with two artboards. Artboard 2 I filled with objects and created Artboard 2 to a symbol. When I try to pull this (Artboard 2-)symbol to Artboard 1, AD freezes. I have to use the task manager to close the cashed AD. What’s wrong? Is it not allowed to make an Artboard to a symbol (with objects I have no problems)? I think this was possible in one of the former betas. See attached test file. Symbols-test1.afdesign
  9. My dream: to draw with the frame text tool a rectangle, that is automatically a curve (and can therefore be changed with the node tool, if desired).
  10. Thank you MEB, thank you Dave, usually I beginn writing within a simple rectangle. Later I see sometimes the need of little changes of the form. With the frame text tool I don't know how to do this. Therefore I think it is useful at the beginning, to create the possibilities for subsequent changes = first convert the rectangle to curves and second convert it to text frame. Then any changes are possible with the node tool. MEB: "The command Layer ▸ Convert to Text Frame already perform both operations simultaneously (convert the shape to curves and turn it into a text frame)." This I cannot understand. I tried it again (converted a rectangle to a text frame), but then I cannot change the form (apart from the usual options of encreasing horizontal or vertical). When the shape is automatically converted to curves it must be able to use the node tool. But this is not possible.
  11. First I complained the unflexible text frame (changes only horizontal or verical possible). But it is very simple to achieve a very very flexible text frame. Take the form tool and make a form (for example a rectangle). At next convert this form to curves. In the third step convert it to a text frame. Then you can fill it with your text. You can change the form with the move tool as before, but (as a curve object) you can create now with the node tool any forms you want. The text will follow the form (see attached files). It’s great how it works. The advantage is also, that you can change the (curve-) form at any time. Is it possible, that the menu “layer” gets an addition point: “convert to curve and text frame”? Or is it possible, that the point “convert to text frame” makes this automaticaly (first convert to curves and then convert to text frame)?
  12. Hi Alfred, you are right: I can copy (and past) the entire object, but can not copy selected text (even if the whole text-block is marked).
  13. Hi thank you all. "Known Issues You will be unable to copy sub-selections of text (i.e. the 'ell' of 'hello'). Whole blocks of text are unaffected. This will be fixed in 1.5.0.9."I'm unable to copy not only sub-selections of text, but it is also impossible to copy the total text in the text frame or artistic test, "copy" is greyed. No problem when copying the entire object.
  14. Thank you o0MSK0o I can paste text, created in other programs, with "past special" into a textframe in AD. But I cannot copy text in a textframe in AD. Even in the same textframe I cannot copy and paste. So I can't copy text from designer and paste it into any other program.
  15. Thank you Ken, In the attached file I have created a text frame and an artistic text. I cannot copy the text, not strg+c nore in the menu (copy is greyed). Please try it in my attached file. When I click into the text, copy will function (not greyed), but makes no sense. As soon as I mark only one character, copy will be greyed. Test-copy.afdesign
  16. Unfortunately “copy and paste of text“ is not fixed. It doesn’t work in 1.5.0.8., too.
  17. Hi Newest version is 1.5.0.8. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/23086-affinity-designer-public-beta-1508-windows/
  18. Hi Dave, hi Petar, I’m not a professional user, it’s my hobby. Your tip „creating a text frame that is a rectangle with a bite taken out of it“ solves my problem completely. I draw a rectangle (or other forms), convert it to curves, convert it to a text frame, fill it with text, and with the node tool I can create various forms (adding further nodes, too). The text will follow automatically the form. WONDERFUL. AD is a very powerful tool. Therefore I would like to have an extra manual as pdf, to learn more about it. The videos are very good, but a manual would complement this very well. supplementary question: What means "0 warning points" under my picture?
  19. Hi Petar, you are not allone. I tried your file. I added again a new layer and inserted several diverse simple elements (rectangle, circle, text). Each is automatical inserted into the locked layer. This is probably a major bug.
  20. Thank you Alfred, it will be difficult for AD to compete against CorelDraw and others, as long as such basic routines are missing.
