  1. FYI I know it's not because of the old OS, I'm running 10.12 (Sierra) and not having a problem uploading 1.9.
  2. This has been driving me crazy the last few days trying to figure out what I was doing different. On my mac in version 1.9.1.3 if I draw any shape, AD is not making it selected when it is drawn. I kept figuring I was doing something that was deselecting it so when I tried to set a color, gradient, etc. it would not be in the shape. At first I was worried that it was going into some other layer, but it isn't nothing is selected after the shape is created.
  3. That's an idea I hadn't considered. In 1.9.0 that node is still selected but that doesn't affect the grayed condition. I don't remember seeing the issue in earlier versions. So I guess the question is should that affect it or not. It logically does make sense to have it this way. In some operations it might be handy to have the one node stay selected when switching from pen to node tool. That explains the deleting issue also. Good thinking Bruce. Thanks.
  4. In AD 1.9.1.3 if I: 1 draw a line using the pen tool 2 press esc 3 draw another line again using the pen tool 4 click on the node tool (or press A) 5 hold down shift and click on the first line to add it to the selection, so both lines are selected This results in the Join Curves icon to be grayed out, seeing as two open objects are selected it should not be grayed out. Also, a possibly related issue: 6 at this point both lines are selected but if I press the delete key only one line is deleted. I would expect both selected objects to be deleted. This part of the issue I have seen in the released version 1.9.0 also. A video is attached. Two.mov
  5. Inner shadows (or outer shadows) start at the very edge of the object. If there is a stroke this is included. If there is no fill then there are two outside edges that it comes from. The only way to separate them is to separate the stroke from the filled object.
  6. I know of no way to change both the child and parent at the same time, except to unlink them so they are no longer child and parent. Drag the child out from the parent then select both make the change, then drag the child back under the parent. Sorry.
  7. @Patrick Connor Thank you very much. I just try to not add something that's not needed. And once one of you guys have said it's a known, unless I have new info that you might not know I refrain from responding. We appreciate all the hard work you guys are doing on this product.
  8. Sean's answer came in as I was typing. Sorry I added to this.
  9. @Bryan Rieger & @walt.farrell I've had pretty much that same issue. Most any time I go into the create new document I use Letter size, then I'll adjust the size later for my final size and shape. But when I open New Document just about, if not always, it's showing mm as the default units. And as you see the top is showing it's not custom. If I click on the letter size icon then the units change to inches. But when I exit AD and reenter the default will be as shown below which makes no sense. But then if I just click Create I get a document that is using inches as the units, not the mm it says. Go figure...! So there is a bug there. Original display After clicking Letter icon Document made using either of these settings
  10. Sean, no it was a one time happening for me. I couldn't reproduce it. Just wanted you to know. Thanks. Mike
  11. That's if you are on Windows, if you use a mac hold down ctrl as you drag.
  12. @dobiegerl There are a few tutorials that can help. There are actually 2 color pickers, this will explain both.
  13. FYI you can shutoff the canvas rotate in the preferences. Preferences>Tools>Enable canvas rotation with cmd+scroll wheel. In the same set of preferences there is a Use mouse wheel to zoom. If that is unchecked then a alt/opt+scroll wheel zooms very nicely. That's the way I use it. The wheel without the alt/opt key is a vertical scroll.
  14. They do have a "hint" of blue with an RGB of (57 63 70) and (234 237 241) but the hint is just a whispered hint.😁
  15. @LaraJ you can rotate the gradient by clicking on the in the context tool bar. This will rotate it a 90 degree intervals. You can also hold down ctrl & shift (on a mac) then hover over one of the end handles, you'll get a curved double headed arrow symbol. With that you can rotate the gradient to any angle wanted. This is if you created the gradient with the Fill (Gradient) tool. If you used the gradient overlay in the fx to create it then there an angle control to turn it.
  16. I did a shutdown on AD 1.9.1.0, but hadn't made a final save after moving a layer to a different group. So I agreed to a save when AD offered it. I then opened AD again and a minute later up came a crash report. AD is working fine when I reopened it. AD did all other saves without a problem. When reopening AD the layer move wasn't saved. It must have crashed after I agreed to the save during a shutdown so I didn't even notice it. Crash report: Crash 2-12-21.txt
  17. It actually works on most any straight line. It does not work on a curved line. You didn't ask about a curve you said a pen line, that could be straight or curved. Do you have anything better?
  18. A trick I have found that works in many/most applications. 1 Do a copy and paste fx to the layers you want the same, make a mental note of what is different from what you wanted. Usually it's only 1 or 2 sliders. 2 Open the fx dialog, if it's not already open 3 Select the layer you want to copy from 4 cmd select the layer(s) you want to copy to. The fx dialog will show what you what is in the layer selected in step 3. So you'll have the correct layer and the incorrect layers selected. 5 Click on the handles in the sliders that were not correct in step 1. This will set those handles on all selected layers. Your original layer you are copying from will not be effected if you don't move the slider.
  19. If I am understanding your question... Try turning on snapping with show snapping candidates. Then the center will be shown in a purple, and you will be able to snap to it.
  20. @walt.farrell and @jmwellborn Both of yours would be acceptable. Wish I knew what setting would cause the problem. If I darken the display to see the highlight then everything else is unnaturally dark. I tried playing with the display profile, but again the ones that darkened the highlight darkened everything else.
