  1. A timely reminder. When taking any pictures within the club people are always asked if they mind (and informed they may be used within publicity about the club). Especially if there are children present
  2. @Komatös that's very kind of you to submit an alternative I am grateful and it gives me food for thought. What I should of shown in my flier is that this is an indoor bowls event. Sadly I have not found any suitable images on the internet to use so I have had to rely on ones I took myself.
  3. Thank you for the CC, it's always welcome. Only 2 bowls clubs in the whole of Germany, that really comes as a great surprise to me.
  4. Publicity flier for next year. Going before the organising committee next week for approval. CC as always welcome. @GaryP work amongst others were the source of ideas. i.B.C. needs to read I.B.C.
  5. My wife and I gave it a whirl for just over an hour and sadly gave up on it. Sad but there you go "you cant please everybody"
  6. @GarryP The fade I will work on, very effective thank you. The title "Ticket to the Grave" is what I would like the name
  7. Cheers everybody for the CC, after showing you comments to the organisers they/I have taken onboard most if not all of your comments and have come up with this amended sort of design for future tickets. Cheers John
  8. Lovely colour balance on the illustration, I like how you have faded the colour into the image, how did you achieve that and just out of interest what font did you use?
  9. Just as a thought, in the short term would it not solve the problem by just reinstalling pageplus on your PC? Xmas card labels Avery 7160 I think is the template I use for my Xmas card from PagePlus. PageplusX9 works fine on my win11 PC.
  10. Like you it has happened to me also, there are times on watching people from whatever event, even formal receptions I cannot believe how much food some people have piled on their plates. I have said to my wife on several past occasions "look at that Pig in a trough"
  11. @Alfred I agree, most events that I go to people either queue up for their food if its a laid out buffet, or if its a meal the caterers normally serve the tables themselves and the organisers to help out will clear away the tables after people have eaten. Just as a by "a big Thank you for all that you do in assisting us people with your feedback and our queries in the various Forums". Cheers John
  12. @PaulEC, Sadly I cannot comment on your point, How an event is run is up to the organisers and caterers. I just produce the publicity as requested and approved and would normally post in this forum for CC before printing.. I will however ask the organisers next time I catch up with them and get back to you with your point of interest. Cheers John
  13. @carl123 Entry is to the event which includes music and food.
  14. Latest ticket for forthcoming BBQ. Too late for alterations as they have been approved, printed on card on HP colour A4 Laser n-up (9 on a page) and on sale now..
  15. @Alfred thought of this, but just scribbling a note on a bit of paper or some sort of digipad is far more convenient. sadly the ipad (not the one in my signature) I would use does not support an apple pencil.
  16. Hi @sansnom, Merci pour vos commentaires. Im as always grateful for constructive criticism. It helps me become a better presenter of publications which I do for out local club. Cheers John )
  17. latest club tri fold brochure. CC as always appreciated.
  18. Not really a question about the use of the programs so please forgive me. I use my Affinity programs on my iPad as well as my PC, I find on many occasions when working in either environments I write written notes on scraps of paper which end up getting tidied away or lost. I would like to use a digipad similar to a Digimemo tablet (which is a bit long in the tooth now). Does anybody use this sort of tablet and what sort of recommendations do people have. Cheers John
  19. Thanks everybody (1 & 8), (3 & 10) along with an alternative font now rectified. (5 &15) were two different individuals, but I have changed one of them as they were very similar. Thank to all for CC. FWIW I have not watched one episode of Coronation street since at least 1984. I watch pointless on occasions for inspiration in the Quizzes I put together.. Cheers John 😊
  20. Latest picture quiz in affinity Designer/Photo. Pinched the idea from BBC's pointless quiz program. will be used in the food interval at the Quiz and Bingo night in August. As always CC welcome.
  21. I use Topaz Labs B&W effects 2 to bring out the best of the image. As I said previously it's my workflow way of working
  22. It will be printed on an old A3 B&W laser printer. Its pot luck where I can source a suitable image for display and some of the images at times have fussy backgrounds, it may seem a long way round to you but its my tried and trusted method for these sort of projects. The numbers are from my assets (1-20) Thanks for the suggestion though, I will keep it in mind for future projects.
  23. You are correct, that said as you can imagine it takes a while to strip out the backgrounds of the faces then convert them to a B&W.png, I have 2 question rounds and 2 music quizzes to put together also for the quiz night, it all a question of time.
  24. Yes @Alfred, but hopefully it will be a slightly different audience.
  25. Latest picture quiz for our club's bingo and quiz night. will be one copy A3, entry £1.00 per person and money collected will be divided equally to the club member/guest winner and a local charity
