  1. I tend not to use bitmap fills so no use to me. A preference would be far more suitable.
  2. Thanks haakoo. I hadn't noticed that. The previous default behaviour was that it was off, I wonder why the change?
  3. Hi, I'm unable to create true elliptical fills - the fill tool is being constrained to circular as both outer nodes move together instead of independently.
  4. I've created several drawings in AD and added a black & white adjustment layer to each file. They place perfectly in AD (both release and beta version) - see screenshot 1. Problem 1: When I export as PDF they ignore the B&W adjustment and show in colour - see screenshot 2. Problem 2: If I add a B&W adjustment layer to the Publisher file they export as B&W but the clipping masks in the Designer files are ignored - see screenshot 3 Both problems are present in the retail and beta versions.
  5. Yes, my daughter's boyfriend had never seen an image of Steve McQueen - not seen Bullitt, The Great Escape, Towering Inferno, The Getaway etc. etc. We'll have to educate them!
  6. Thanks Matt, I couldn't have done this without you and your sterling team providing the best software Where's the trophy emoji???
  7. My wife wants to write in her blog website about Steve McQueen. Problem: All the best photos of Steve McQueen are copyright. "No problem," I said, "I'll draw him for you..." Out came Affinity Designer... Problem Solved!
  8. A Chinese Crested called Wizz, drawn in Affinity Designer as a tribute for a friend (Wizz passed in December last year). All vector apart from the pixel cloud brushes which came from the xresch clouds and smoke collection on the Affinity Store.
  9. Thanks for the update, Patrick. I've not any time until next week now, but will spend some time next week looking at this
  10. No, just tried this, the 'master page' items are removed from the master page when moved up and they also disappear from subsequent pages. They need to be copy and pasted from the master page in the layers panel then the master page items made invisible in the layers panel. Either way, it's more work than the simple (and less time consuming) 'promote from master page' option that PP uses.
  11. One thing I've found useful in PP is the 'Promote from Master Page'. I realise I can add guides to the master page in APub, but would like the option to include items on the master page that could be promoted and reused on the page eg a regular text box for a booklet.
  12. Hi, I've looked at the videos and am now 'playing' with the app. Some great features, it was worth the wait! One thing I'm missing is the ability to save as a template file. I regularly want to open a new blank document with all the settings ready so that I can just populate it with extra pages and content. I suppose I could create a single, master apub document then, when I begin, save it under a new name (as long as I remember!), but it would be great if we could create a template file to share with co-workers - then we would all be working to the same 'house-style'.
  13. It was the same in PP - I regularly get PDF files to create as new web pages, at least one issue per year has long tables and I always have to copy each text frame as they are not imported as tables. Perhaps it's more to do with the way tables are formatted when the PDF is created?
  14. Hi Marymurli, The Affinity Designer tutorial are here: and the Vimeo channel can be found here: https://vimeo.com/channels/affinitydesigner but there are no tutorials on the crop tool. However, there are 4 results for 'crop' when using the inbuilt Help.
