I just installed 2.4.1 and unfortunately had to find out that the footnotes are still not working properly. Is there any hope that the problem will be solved soon?
Thank you

Dear Affinity Team,
after so many versions and updates and attempts - the problem still exists! Wouldn't it be a good idea to solve this problem before adding new features?
Thank you

Is there any news about packed footnotes? I have just installed the latest beta - but the problem occurs unchanged. Wouldn't it be time to tackle this problem seriously - now that it has been known for so many months!?

Dear Staff,
Is there any news on the subject? Will the problem be solved in the next version?
thx

Is there a possibility to create tonal values from a spotcolor?
If I create tonal values from the Spotcolor, then the individual tone values are created - but converted into process colors. But it would be very practical if these tonal values were defined as a percentage of the spot color. (So print density, ink application)
thx

A short update... First, the good news: It seems to me that the assignment of packed notes is now working properly. The footnotes are displayed on the right page - just as it should be!
Now the bad news: but there is a new, different problem. If there are several lines of packed notes, then the footnotes are partly displayed on top of each other, e.g. on page 23 - see attachment.
I have packed the corresponding document and attach it as well.
Dear Affinity Team and @Gabe - this book that I am currently layouting (and there are the problems with the footnotes) should be printed quickly - but unfortunately it does not work because of the technical problems. I would be very grateful if you could solve the problem quickly in a beta. (I used 2.3!)
Thank you

I installed the new Beta 2.3.0 (2165)
There is still the problem that on some pages the footnotes are not assigned correctly. For example, on page 31 there are 5 footnotes - but the footnotes 2-5 are displayed on page 32.

It is very specific to having 'Prevent Widowed Last Lines' enabled in the paragraph prior to the footnotes
@Hangman I don´t understand this? Why is this very specific? It is normal to avoid Widowed Last Lines - whether the paragraph has footnotes or not! Or do I understand something wrong?

Ich hoffe dieser kleine Film kann helfen das Problem zu erklären!

OK, I understand. I'll answer tomorrow

Is the problem not clear? - sometimes the footnotes disappear - why a new video? Why can you only solve this if I create a new thread? What do you mean by a video from the beginning?
thx

hey @thomaso,
As you can see from the screenshot, the files are in the right place.
When I learn German words, the "de" file is changed immediately.
If I set "automatically by language" in the basic settings, the LocalDictionary file will be changed immediately.
If I set "Hrvatski" (= Croatian) in the basic settings - then the word is also learned immediately. In another publisher document, I can also use the learned word. And if I unlearn it, then it is no longer available in the other documents.
So it stays that way - where is this custom-file "hr"?
You wrote: Where is your general Croatian dictionary stored, maybe your custom dict file is saved in that folder, too? - See attachment
You wrote: Or: are you sure your word was learned successfully / does APub offer to "Unlearn" if you select the word now? - See attachment

I deleted the file like @MikeTOsaid. After adding new words - no results. no hr-user-specific dictionary. And no new cache-files.
should I copy them back in the spelling folder?

I added a new word to the Croatian spelling help via Publischer "learning" and then started the search as @thomaso suggested. The result: zero!

Are you using Sonoma 14.1 by any chance?
Yes, 14.1.
Interesting with all this is: as you can see in the picture, the user-specific file for German (de) is created and is visible and properly used.
Before I had deleted all the spelling files, there was also a Croatian user-specific file - it was called "it" and not "hr", which would have to be the abbreviation for croatian. But for a while, the added words were stored in it.
Ok - now I'll look for hidden files and come back....
Packed-Footnotes are STILL located on the wrong page
