  1. I had this same problem. Turned off Parallel Processing (as suggested) and it worked.
  2. In AP, I was using my brush in overlay blend mode (the brush, not the layer), hoping to clean up a layer mask. I had my mask selected and displayed in black and white format. I found that black painted as black and white painted as white no matter where I was on my black, white and gray layer mask. I was hoping to darken to pure black and lighten to pure white areas of my mask that were something less than pure white or black. This works this way in Photoshop, so I was surprised that I couldn't do it in AP. I couldn't get it to work in the new beta either. Am I missing something? Thanks.
  3. Hi unni. Thanks for your reply. My original post is almost 2 years old so I had to do some memory searching just to remember what I was talking about. Thanks again.
  4. ACDSee does not recognize .afphoto on a Mac. If it does for you, please let me know how you did it.
  5. Couldn't get this to work on my Mac. Do you have a Mac?
  6. I have a Sony a 7ii, and my arw files are accepted fine.
  7. Hi, I'm trying to get to a group of .icm color profiles I downloaded for my epson printer from a paper company I hope to deal with. I installed them by putting them in the ColorSync folder on my mac and they appear as expected in PS, but they do not show up in AF. Do I need to add them to some folder unique to AF? If not, what do I need to do to get at them? I see an "import icc profile" option under the file menu, but that will not work with an .icm file. They do appear in the soft proof adjustment layer. Thanks
  8. I recently read the following: Posted 10 May 2017 - 07:09 AM Hi KTnewuser, Affinity Photo doesn't handle colour management when printing like Photoshop does. Please could you make sure you are picking the correct colour profile in the print menu when you print your image? C Does this mean when printing from ap, that we have to let the printer control color management? Or, that it does handle color management, but just in a different manner? Thanks
  9. When applying a gradient map adjustment, is there a way to make any of the stops transparent? The opacity setting applies only to the whole layer, where when a gradient is applied (with the gradient tool) and the individual stops are edited, opacity is possible for individual stops. Is this the way it is supposed to be? If so, fine. The gradient tool works great. Thanks.
  10. rickd, thanks so much. I didn't have ColorSync checked.
  11. Is it possible to create a macro that prints? If so, how?
  12. Hi Callum, This is what I do in PS. I make a selection, and apply a mask to that selection. Then delete the selection and option click on the mask to show only the mask on the screen. I now have only a black and white (and grays) showing on the screen. I now want to clean up the mask, essentially making all white areas 100% white and all black areas 100% black. To do this, I select a brush, and change the brush mode to overlay. This is the mode selection drop down on the top part of the screen. Not a layer mode. Change foreground/background to B/W and paint on the visible mask. As I understand it and as it works on PS, when painting in overlay mode with black, all pixels of >50%gray will become 100% black and white is ignored, and when painting in white, all pixels of <50% gray will become 100% white and black pixels are ignored. In AP, when applying this procedure, no pixel section is made. Black paints as black, white paints as white. Thank you for looking into this.

I previously posted this in questions but think it is more appropriate here. Thanks.
  14. Thank you. I thought that might be it, but I didn't think I had modified that pic. Oh well.
  15. I have a file open in AF and it shows the file name as Destin_2015-135.dng [M]. What does the [M] mean? Thanks
  16. Don't know if you answered oceanpearls's question but I appreciate the answer.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but where is or how do you set up the keyboard shortcut to change foreground/ background to black and white that you mentioned? Thanks
  18. Thanks, barninga. That was a great answer.

    Misspelling?

Thank you. I was just getting use to "colour".

    Misspelling?

I don't know how you spell "Capitalisation" in Europe, but in the US it's spelled "Capitalization". It's spelled with the "s" under the Text menu item. If this is correct, then fine, if not, it can be fixed. I'm just hoping I spelled all these Capitalizations correctly. Your program is great, BTW.
