  1. Hi, when importing IDML file, Publisher remembers the first image and replace the others with it. If the frame differs in size from the original one it streches the image as shown. Same in retail v2.0.4 and in the Beta 2.1.0.1736.
  2. Please Affinity, add an option in Preferences or with some modifier key to crop objects in Photo, not only the canvas.
  3. Hi, can some be so kind to explain to me what is the difference between the Crop to pixel selection and the standard crop. Meaning, what extra can be achieved with the first one that can't be done with the second? I watched the video and what I saw is, in the end, the result is the same with a few steps more or less.
  4. Do you think of these two missing functionalities: Photo's personas are missing when you open Photo by clicking on Photo persona in Publisher; When you select an image to modify it thorugh a Photo persona in Publisher, you get only flatenned image, not all the layers it has.
  5. I wonder why Affinity insists on standard colors instead of global ones only? InDesign and Quark support only global colors.
  6. Hi, I would like to hear from A-Team: do you have in plan to offer more affonts? do you plan to add cyrilic (and other) languages support? how can we edit these fonts? Any font editor that supports them?
  7. Using styles must be optional, not obligatory. InDesign and Quark don't ask you to use styles.
  8. Yes, that is exactly what I want. This would be even better. Lets see if Affinity is going to do something about this in near future.
  9. Hi, there is a problem with code pages preview in a font list. There is an attachment. Select the text (written with cyrilic support) and you will see, if you scroll through fonts list the all fonts "support" cyrilic, whicih is not true. That is because Affinity decided to adopt Word like font preview (same problem there, too). As you can see from the example only interpunction signs are with Bauhaus font, not the whole text, because Bauhaus do not support cyrilc. But, CorelDRAW has top notch way of showing the fonts list. Simply, fonts that do not support the proper code page are shown in the list but are grayed out and can't be applied to the text. I like Affinity to choose his way of fonts list preview rather then the one we have now. Cyrilicg text.afpub
  10. Hi, I can't deselect "Show as List" in Designer's 2.1.0.1730 Brushes panel to see "Nozzle Preview". But, it is OK in Photo. Win 10 Pro, latest update.
  11. Great! It was a long-waited feature. Just a suggestion. For me, it is very hard to find, which also leads to slowing the workflow. Wasn't it more logical to be located where the other fields are -- under "Text > Insert > Fields"?
  12. So, why do we need crop tool, if we can achieve the same results with vector shapes? Crop tool in Photo should work the same way as in Publisher and Designer. For now, you can crop the image only to the document size and after that it is unusable at all. You can't crop any other object if you need to.
  13. You can talk for yourself only. Everyone has it's own rules that follows and it is OK.
  14. Thanks, Bruce. Because of you I will change my way of thinking regarding this matter. I will work this way from now on: margins will always be set to 0 when creating a new document; I will create a grid on master pages; draw linked text boxes that snap to the guides of my choice; import the text on the main pages.
  15. And how would Publisher know what are the boundaries for adjusting the text frame?
  16. As first, I created this example in InDesign because there is no option in Publisher for creating grids that span the whole page or spread -- only to the margins. The grid color is Cyan, the margins are in magenta and I drew the green rectangle to show where I need the margins to be repositioned. Repositioning them by entering numbers is too slow and not so precise. Why I do need this? Maybe for interior part of a book design?
  17. Hi, let say I created a 9 x 9 grid on master pages. Now, I would like margins to snap to any of the guides and doing that by changing numeric values needs much more time than draging them to the desired positions.
  18. How about revert creating the ruler guides? Vertical ruler guide(s) are created by dragging from the horizontal ruler and vice versa. This way we can easily position the guide according the ruler.
  19. Hi, it would be very useful if you made these changes into "View > Guides" panel: different gutter settings for rows and columns; guides should be page (and spread) related, too -- not only to margins.
  20. Of course I start with a specific document size in Photo, just as in Designer and Publisher. After that I place images and adjust them except that I can't crop them.
