  1. Thanks. Snapping was the issue. I've never looked into Snapping settings before. Using the Page Layouts preset stopped the flash of the text frame.
  2. Is there a reason for the flash of pink text frame when paging through a document in Publisher? I have to say I find it irritating and would like to be able to turn it off. If there is a good reason for it, I might be able to tolerate it better
  3. I assume "backupstore" is for file recovery. It may be worth trying to increase the File Recovery Interval in Performance Settings in case it stores more than one copy of each file. It may also be worth lowering the Undo Limit, in case the history is also stored in there. Also, it may make sense not to have too many unsaved modified files open at once. (I may be wrong -- just guessing here).
  4. So do you think it would be best not to use nested master pages at all in this situation?
  5. Not just white background. Any colour will cause it. The text seems to be there, but on a lower layer. It may be something to do with the order of layers being wrong when one master page is nested in another. PS, I'm on Windows. With the layer hidden the text appears:
  6. Turns out, it isn't. I have a template for a paperback. I have set up master pages. One is Blank -- it has the main text frames on it. The other is Body -- it is based on Blank, and has added page number text frames on it. The idea is to apply the Blank master page on empty left pages before a new chapter, but Body is applied to the bulk of pages When I Place a .docx file into the text frame on page 6, which has the Body master page applied, it flows into page 7, as intended, but then doesn't flow any further. I shift click on the triangle and a bunch of new pages are created, but they are empty -- the text isn't autoflowing into them. I have to link each spread manually. I don't think this is how it is supposed to work, so what have I done wrong? I haven't had problems in the past when I drew the text frames on the page -- autoflow worked flawlessly. It only seems to happen with frames on master pages. 203x127 paperback body (8x5).aftemplate
  7. I don't know what you mean. There are no shortcuts on that page. It doesn't matter. My main purpose for being on this thread was to support the bug in alignment of the text cursor, but I got distracted by the shortcuts issue. I might make a bug report, or several bug reports, in the Windows Bugs forum at some point.
  8. Thanks. I know these, but the point, I think, is that we're unable to change them in Windows.
  9. Just double checked and they are not in any of those places.
  10. I have tried to make a screen recording, but Game Bar can't see the setting dialog for some reason -- it just shows the mouse moving about but no dialog. Another bug? Something odd about the settings dialog? But trust me, it ain't there in Windows:
  11. Sorry, but I can't find the Text Input category. I'm on Windows if that makes a difference.
