...open Photo with external program
U.Ke. replied to U.Ke.'s topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
thank you guys.. MSIX deinstalled, MSI installed ... I am so happy .. no more awkward shortcut setting and no more disability sending files from other applications into Affinity. Yes, I am a Windows user from the beginning and I am used to oldschool installations, besides that, I do not have any other msix installations as of yet. ... and I dont want any thanks again and cheers U.Ke. -
...open Photo with external program
U.Ke. replied to U.Ke.'s topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
thank you mates, I will try to install the .msi version. I didn`t like this "msix" stuff anyway. cheers and thanks U.Ke. PS: do I have to deregister from my notebook first, or can I reinstall without any glitches ? -
Hi all, I am using "Faststone Image Viewer" as my Viewer and as kind of Catalog for all my photos. When you open a Photo in Faststone-IV you got the option to open the current photo for editing with an external Program. Where can I find Affinity 2 to choose. It's not there, nowhere to find 😒 thank you and cheers Ulli

Yeah, make your life easier, not the customers

Hello Serif, I need to have a refund for V2 until you guys have changed the installation back to exe. What is the process for refund? I have not expected such an awkward installation process with MSIX when I bought this software. I am really disappointed like many others. Loosing direct control over my Software and files makes me nervous and uncomfortable. I will stuck with V1 until this has been changed.

where is Photo stored on my Desktop
U.Ke. replied to HerrBill's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
yes, this an App, you will not find it the usual way, which is really awkward. Many People complained already to change the installation file to a standard exe not in this MSIX format for Apps. Please see here for creating a desktop shortcut. Please see here for how to install Affinity on a different drive. -

thank you stokerg, this may help for the moment. But in general, why did you guys change the common installing procedure. Most users have had full control over their files and programs since windows Version 1.1 in the mid 80's. just because of Windows 10/11 there is no need to change the usual installation process. At least not in my eyes. . I cannot choose a designated path to this new Affinity V2. Which is really a pitty. Hope there are more customers complaining and you'll go back to the usual common way to install Applications. Hope this shot is not backfired. Cheers U.ke PS: found this in some other reactions: This is a stupid move by the developers. I own my PC, it is not a phone or a tablet and I want to control what goes on the PC and where it goes. I didn't spend time setting up partitions and drivers for fun. I have a particular drive for programs and that is where they go or they don't get installed - end of!
