  1. I do wonder if there's something ya'll can do "on save" to catch this. I lost about an hour between the multiple crashes and I'm sure I'm not the only user of yours who loses info. You should be able to easily check on save to see if there is a file with the same name (less prefix) and if it's an iCloud folder... IDK maybe not... maybe it's too low level and all you can do is submit it to Apple and hope for the best.
  2. I restarted so I didn't have crash logs but I could reproduce in a couple of minutes See photo below for steps... If I save it in the same folder (in Desktop which is part of apple cloud sync) it hangs and if I save it anywhere else it doesn't. Your forum sent an error when I try to upload the source PNG so I uploaded as a ZIP, not sure if that worked either. untitled folder.zip crash reports.rtf
  3. Running Affinity Photo 1.10.6 12-inch M1 2020 MacOS 13.3.1 (22E261)
  4. A lovely person included steps to fix it on this post: https://the.fmsoup.org/t/svg-icon-hell/3080
  5. Someone shared this workaround on another forum for me: https://the.fmsoup.org/t/svg-icon-hell/3080
  6. Hi there, I'm having a lot of pain from SVGs from Affinity Designer. I've taken the two source icons and subtracted one from the other (see result), and when I try to use it it keeps losing the cutout. It works in some apps in some instances. The easiest way to see this is to take the affinity designer file and export it as EPS file, then run it through cloud converter to turn it back into an SVG, and you'll see that the butterfly disappears. I'm having the same problem in Filemaker (different app) and other apps I'm using to try to convert it into a Filemaker Friendly format... but the principal is the same. Thoughts? source icons from inDats.zip result.svg.zip ButterflyChat.02.afdesign.zip
  7. Even Intel apps open much faster, but the time to open Affinity Designer and Photo is insanely long. Is there an update or switch or something I should do? Is this something that Serif is working on? Or are they just using a really old code-base or something? Literally nothing else opens slowly on my machine except for Affinity apps... and I keep thinking they're not working and clicking them again and today I actually started to go and reinstall Creative Cloud while waiting before Affinity Designer showed up because I thought it was maybe end of life and I was on a deadline and I didn't have time to troubleshoot it, then it opened...
  8. For what it's worth I'm having the same error when exporting to PSD, and I don't have any text items in my document (pure illustration in designer).
  9. I've been using my M1 Mac since November of last year. I continue to love Affinity Apps (have all 3 on my Mac), but they take SO LONG to open, and I'm not used to that with M1 Macs. I'm not sure if maybe they're not opening the first time and I have to open them another time, or if they just take a long time. Most apps on M1 seem to open fairly instantly. Is it really taking a long time, or do they sometimes not launch the first time I click on them. In a given week the Apps I use the most are: Safari Mail Spark email client Toggle Fantastical Preview Notes Maps Skitch Filemaker Music None of these seem to have the same "slow start" issue, neither do apps I use less often such as Quicken, Facebook Messenger App, etc.
  10. I'm making a bunch of icons based off of SVG files and have a builder file in Affinity Designer that's sized correctly, and I'm importing a bunch of SVG files from Font Awesome and other sources, but when I drag in the SVG it's HUGE by default and I have to manually scale it down. Is there a way to basically drag an image into Affinity designer and have it just "fit to screen" automatically or something like that?
  11. I found a pretty easy way to extract an embedded document. Simply double-click on it and it will open in a new tab. Command - A to select all, copy, close tab and paste into your original document.I found a pretty easy way to extract an embedded document. Simply double-click on it and it will open in a new tab. 12. Yes all original images are same size. I see the Batch Job tool. let me give it a whirl...
