Leigh Creggas Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Hi ! I am creating a workout log for a client with a list of exercises on it. I'd love for my client to be able to add how many reps or sets she has done to check progression on a PDF. Anyone know how I can do this using affinity? I have sent a screen shot of what I mean! Thank you in advance Quote
Dan C Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Hi @Leigh Creggas, It sounds as though you are looking for PDF 'fillable forms' - unfortunately this isn't currently a supported feature in Affinity, my apologies. I'll be sure to add a 'vote' to this feature in our internal development log for you now, as this is something we may add in a future update In the meantime, you may be able to export the PDF from Affinity and then use an external application to add these 'fillable forms', however I have no personal experience doing this, so hopefully other forum members can offer recommendations! galindox Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 the main issue is that the reason to use affinity publisher as opposed to libreoffice to create complex form is to take advantage of the powerful design tools that allow to deal with complex layouts, I have a large forms with dozens of fields and everytime that a change is made to the layout i required, all the form fields need to be recreated on the pdf, this is a time consuming task. unfortunately no pdf editor have the layout and design features that affinity publisher have (layers and layer groups per page, styles etc), would be great if you implement a feature request option with a voting system and a public roadmap for development, that would give some peace of mind to customers and staff RocketGS and raily74 2 Quote
Ron P. Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Welcome to the forums @galindox, There is a Feature Requests & Suggestions forum. Just search to see if someone has already suggested what you are. If so add you voice to that thread. If not start one. As far as the roadmap is concerned, Serif did have one, however they removed it from public view, because too many people were offended when the feature they wanted was not being implemented when they thought it should be. Peace of mind for staff, well I'm sure they do, some customers don't because of wanting things immediately. They are meant for the most basic/plain PDF tasks, you can edit/annotate/sign/overlay/merge/split/extract/compare ... etc. PDF files. You can alter them, so you can for example place text where you want, overdraw with shapes, or overlay ... etc. - Here's a simple by ADe created PDF, modified with that PDF24 stuff. See their Invoice example for something which generates/customizes *invoices* and so uses partly form fields here, though they don't offer yet any create/edit explicite PDF forms tool. Which would be maybe a good addition for that toolset. RocketGS Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I truly enjoy the Affinity products. But the inability to create an editable PDF is a huge hole in the software. Hopefully Serif is listening and will add this functionality in the near future. ivan.dedos, Nadira, raily74 and 1 other 4 Quote

SpinDreams Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 This would be a killer feature, so many industries would like to use affinity tools for creating interactive PDFs and the ability to add forms would really make it a goto program. Just make sure we can anchor the form fields to places in the text so text edits also move fields with them (Ala Adobe InDesign). Quote
Dan Parker Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Would be a really useful feature, a separate persona maybe required though. Â Quote
Ulrike Berg Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Does the Publisher 2 Version now have the posibility of 'fillable forms' for interactive PDFs? I wish to get rid of Adobe completly, but one of my Clients require these PDFs. I have Affinity Publisher Version 1 so I am interrested if it makes sense for me to upgrade. Thanks! Quote

No, Publisher V2 hasn't this posibility! Maybe it comes in one of the next updates. woodworm Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 +1 Â I still use PagePlus X9 more than Publisher - I am concerned a future windows update will bork that. Quote
