Thanks Bruce. I've checked insets and thy are all at 0. I'll try and produce a one page example later on this evening. Phil -
Hi all I'm in need of some urgent advice please. I'm using Publisher 2 to produce a simple newsletter. Having entered some 52 pages without any problem - mostly text with the odd picture - suddenly when I add a new text frame it's behaving very oddly: The flashing cursor is at the top right corner of the frame, instead of the top left as normal, and when I try to enter text it appears one character per line at the extreme right hand edge of the frame, in bold and underlined. Worse when I want to move the frame, the move tool arrow turns into the node symbol arrow and I can't do anything with my frame. This is an issue specifically associated with this publication - all is well on a new publication. Obviously I've inadvertently clicked on somethimg to make this happen, but I''ve no idea what. I have a deadline to meet, so am a bit concerned about meeting it now. 😞 Phil

Hi. I'm producing what is a very simple text newsletter. It's on A4 in two columns. Occasionally the last line of one of the columns is blank - the text won't flow into it from the preceding line. i.e. If it's at the end of column one It flows into the first line of column two instead. This blank line is completely inaccessible - the cursor won't access it. What is causing this please? Although I'm using Publisher 2 I had the same issue with Publisher 1. The text is pasted from a Word doc. Any ideas welcome. Phil

Well I guess I was a bit premature. This is really bugging me now: I'm producing a regular newsletter- nothing complicated, just 70-odd pages of text with a few pictures. Obviously I want all the pages to be the same in terms of margins, column numbers etc., so I set up a Master page with a suitable text frame, and then add document pages using the Master as the template. That all works fine, but just occasionally I need to resize the odd text frame. But I can't. The Master has resize handles OK, but document pages based on that Master, don't. So my question is: why not? And secondly, how do I make all my document page text frames have resize handles as a default? Phil Hi Hens. Yes I've read through that but can't see where it addresses my issue of resizing text frames within pages based on Master pages.

Thanks Alfred. Couldn't have put it better myself. I'm also a refugee from PagePlus and really miss this facility, as with frames not having resize handles all the time. But that's another subject, and I don't want to get chastised by the Moderators... I would go back to PagePlus but with Serif withdrawing support I don't have anyh choice but to stick with Affinity and make the best of it. Phil

Hi Is there an "autofit" function to adjust text - font -size to fit exactly into a series of linked frames? At the moment I have to use a trial and error method of manually altering the font size, and it's very time consuming and doesn't always give me the exact fit I want. (I do not want to adjust the size of the frames) Ta Phil

Thanks again. Nearly there now. So now I can produce a new template page and duplicate it for however many pages I need for my newsletter publication. One more question though: If I need lots of pages is there any way of batch duplicating them. It's going to be a bit tedious making 70-odd copies one at a time otherwise. Phil

Thanks Garry. Yes, that looks as though it'll do what I want, but having never used the assets panel, I checked withe the help file and it says: To create a new assets category: On the Assets panel, click Panel Preferences and choose Create New Category. However, when I view the assets panel it's completely blank, as is its drop-down menu. So where do I find this Panel Preferencesto click on? Phil
