MarioMello got a reaction from Oufti in Overprint missing features @ Affinity Design
I found out a single but could be a hard (difficult) way that can help packaging designers.
You can select the object and setup it manually the stroke width, color desire and finally on apparency tab put it as Darken mode. At this moment you can have a preview of your "overprints" and save your job as PDF/X4 to send it to your preferred print provider.
You just need to take care to correctly put the objects in the correct order to don't make mistakes on the print result.
Remember to put light colors bellow the dark colors.
The result on Acrobat Pro.

Folks,
I'll try your suggestions Hangman and I'll keep you posted about the results.
Woefi I agree with you, and I add a suggestion that leave us too setup overprint by objects not only by colors.

MarioMello got a reaction from loukash in Overprint missing features @ Affinity Design
Hi folks!
I'm a packaging designer and I use a lot by the competitor to make me designes.
Since 2019, I started to work with Affinity solutions including Affinity Designer, but I miss the overprint features on it. I know that I can setup overprint features on spot colors, but it only for spot colors. Because when I design packaging, sometimes I need to setup overprint on color on stroke but can't put overprint on the fill (knockout) on same object that it uses same color. The competitor uses this feature for spot or process (CMYK) colors. I tried to use "daken" mode applied on appearance tool just on stroke, but it didn't run well.
Another feature that I miss is the preview mode where I can see the overprints on screen.

MarioMello reacted to radek108 in maybe something like ESKO plugins ????
Hello
Affinity Designer suggestion.
To the Affinity team.
ESKO is the creator of plugins for Adobe Illustrator
https://www.esko.com/en/products/studio
A brilliant tool for those who design packaging.
If you did something like that right away in Affinity Designer, not as a plugin, probably a large part of the market would be yours.
Designer would become a leading application in packaging design.
I think we can have dreams 🙂
Greetings to all
Thanks for your work.

MarioMello reacted to ThomasMouquot in Affinity Products for Packaging Design
Hi All,
I'd like to know if anyone has used Affinity Publisher or Affinity Designer to create design for custom corrugated boxes using existing templates (if there is any). I was looking at pack.ly or packmage who also offer that but those tools are limited
If yes, are you able to share how you did it?
Cheers,
Thomas

MarioMello reacted to KORBA_ca in Affinity Mock-Up Website
Hey everyone,
I am creating an website just for mock-ups of affinity files. Every file that is uploaded must be free of any CC to ensure everyone can use the files without and issue. I will be uploading all of my mock-ups there and I will be allowing user submitted content to help grow the affinity mock up community. The site will be similar to graphic burger, mock up world, etc.
I am personally looking for some people to help me test the website to ensure there is no issues before launch (end of August launch).
I'm currently working on a custom post type and taxonomies for user submissions right now but everything has been going super smooth. If you'd like to help let me know!
