  1. I love afphoto and use it now daily for a lot of think as a freelance, but for me the Raw development module ise too far from what i need, yes the sidecard files is a usefull feature, but, simply having a full good interpreting of format is far more important to my taste. I dont use adobe product anymore but for raw i still go to any of the open source / free (rawtherapy / darktable) software, at this date they are far superior to afPhoto for raw dev. with the same raw photo in any of the three software listed here (rawtherapy, darktable, affinity photo) try to get information from dark a
  2. Hi everyone, it's not really a question more a request, not sur if it's the right place, maybe a moderator move the subject where it belong. I did a lot of retouching this last week using AFPhoto, and i find difficult to clic on sliders easily. for me it's a software ergonomic issue, the "clic-box" (the zone where you can clic to move a slider) should be a little bigger, maybe 2 to 5 pixels larger to avoid any unnecessary hassle when you try to clic to move a slider. it's a very small change that can make using the software for long hours much more streamlined and easy...
  3. I just try that, but i still need to move the brush to get "paint" on the canvas. the behavior i'm trying to reproduce is i maintain the brush still in one spot, and click for a prolonged period of time, and the paint accumulate (build up) on the canvas. it's a very usefull brush behavior for any painting app, i i cant manage to find a way to do that in affinity.
  4. still need movement to "build up". in PS (and other app) i can stay still, maintain the clic, and the color / brush add layer of "paint"
  5. I have the same question, i try to make a "aerograph" like brush with build up, i tryed the accumulation slider in "more" in brush configuration, but i didnt manage to get something like i get in other soft. does someone know if it is possible in Affinity photo ?
  6. Where can i find an online help for the ipad version like the one for desktop version (https://affinity.help/photo/fr.lproj/index.html ) Or at least a list of all feature that are available or not between ipad and desktop version ? Thx in advance.
  7. it's more like it, but it's in publisher. i was hoping i didnt find it in Affinity photo. It's oki because as is see it Affinity suite is not three software, but one software that you can buy in three part (as you can switch from one to another seamlessly)
  8. I already know what i can do with a mask or a cliping mask, the frame tools is not really that, but thx anyway =)
  9. quick question : something like the (photoshop or indesign) frame tool exist in affinity Photo or not ? edit for precision.
  10. Hello again, I'm still testing a lot of functionality of AfPhoto, and trying to understand how the layer and place document work. I love the fact that resizing / transform of a layer doesnt alter the content like a sort of smart layer. I like too that you can place document inside document and have a live preview of the modification. I dont like that i cant warp / perspective change the embedded document without rasterizing it, it make the template/mockup workflow change undoable in the application for me. But i really like to have some clarification on how it work to
  11. Reproducing the situation i got the same result, effect from adjustment layer inside a group inside a group disappear. group bug ?
  12. I did some test today with the cloning tools, i'm still not sur what the global source is supposed to do, and how the add global source function. I was looking if i can clone between two different document (source on a document layer, target on another document) (i can do that in Gimp or PS) as is didnt manage to understand all the option of the tools, maybe i did miss something, if someone got point on how it is supposed to work, and if it's possible will be appreciated. I did find the answer / sorry post can be deleted ! To clone between documents, select the layer you want t
  13. Just right clic on the (top) layer and clic expand selection to see all the layer. the way it work was confusing for me too.
  14. From my understanding it doesnt work if you do it in one way, and it work if you do it the "other way". i put the group in the gradient layer and i get the intended result. (i didt not use a fill layer with a gradient here, but it work the same so it can be totally non destructive)
  15. I think i just find the answer to my question. i need to be on an empty layer for that to work.
  16. Hi everyone. I'm still experimenting and testing what i can do or not do with Affinity Photo, i made so nice discovery (some tools are not where i was looking for them) but i'm still looking for some other. ie : i'm looking for a way to transform a selection: rotate / scale / move (move is already ok with the move tool) something similar to the select/transform selection from photoshop. thx in advance.
  17. Hi again, When i work with raw file, i usually open a lot of file, to choose the best photo to edit, this part of the process of developing raw is actually very painful in affinity photo (or i don't use it the way it should be used). If you open multiple (let say 50 photos from a shoot) raw files, each one is a different document in the develop persona, and if you choose to not use 40 of them, you need to close each file with TWO actions, "canceling" the develop persona and confirming it. When you edit a lot of photos it's really annoying. I understand that the develop persona i
  18. Thx for confirming it HVDB. About the jpg, I don't really "need" to edit the file, i only do testing for now, checking what tool work on HDR image and what's not working, that's why my question was more about "is it an expected behavior or not" (should the haze removal filter be greyed out when editing HDR image or not) than how can i do this or that (the picture don't really need any haze removal after all...)
  19. i just reproduce it again. i load the HDR_041_Path.hdr image in Affinity photo, do nothing else, and apply the haze removal, the computing / loading bar appear, work something like 5 second, and the software close.
  20. I'm using the last version of Affinity Photo for windows ( It was a random HDR image from the web : this one precisely : https://www.hdri-hub.com/hdrishop/freesamples/freehdri/item/117-hdr-041-path-free no other operation did crash the software.
  21. I was trying some editing on 32bits HDR image, and the Haze removal filter crash Aphinity Photo each time. Question in the title, is it a bug, or the function must be greyed out like other unavailable filter ?
  22. I'm aware of the Ctr + click on the thumbnail, but this doesnt work for a simple curve traced with the Pen Tool (it doesnt create any selection), it work for curve from texts and curve from polygons. If i want it to work for the curve i need to add a fill to the curve i just traced, one more step in a process i will do a lot. The real question is WHY deleting the curve layer when i just ask for a selection, the behavior doesn't really make sens to me.
  23. Hello everyone, I'm new to the software, (buy it this week) ans i find something that disrupt my workflow a lot, i know i can workaround with duplicate layer etc, but i cant understand why this is the default behavior. If you have a shape or a text that you convert to curve, (or simply a curve) and use the curve to selection button, you loose your curve. the curve layer disappear completely. Can i change anything in the configuration / assistant to prevent that behavior ? i want to keep my curve layer, not remove it each time i want to create a selection from it. Thx
