  1. Hello, I've been using FF9 for some years now, and I thought I would give FF 13 a try. I downloaded the trial and the plugin works as it should. The only problem is that the rendering is significantly slower than my old FF9. Not only does it shows inside the plugin (even with "draft mode" turned on), you also have to wait a long time after you export it for it to show up in Affinity. Some filters are less extensive than others, but the overall speed let me down. FF9, that I still have installed, is much faster overall. For me, there are not enough feature improvements compared to FF9 and I have enough filters in there to keep me busy, so, just for the speed, I'm going to keep using my FF9 and will not purchase FF13 after the trial.
  2. Can we select this as an option? Sometimes I don't want to crop out the transparent areas. I need to keep my original size, and prefer to fill in the alpha areas with inpainting. (I have created a macro for that) Also, one more vote for an object crop tool in Photo. I often find myself opening the document in Publisher (edit in...), just to use that nifty vector crop tool. That and the transparancy tool. I wish those two would make it into Photo.
  3. To reply on your first screenshot, I think the problem there is that you have "wet edges" ("bords humides") checked on the brush toolbar. This often gives you unwanted behavior of the brush when applying masks.
  4. And another vote for Text Warp. I guess it's a basic tool that you will find in almost every other creative app. Now it's what I look forward to the most, to have this in Affinity Photo.
  5. Andy05, That's great, but what plugin do you have and works fine? Machine Wash Deluxe or Permanent Press 2?
  6. Hello, i continued my findings with Mister Retro in this thread: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/98137-photoshop-plugins/
  7. Here's an update of my trials. I contacted Mister Retro and they said that their Permanent Press 2 -plugin should work with Affinity. They suggested that I downloaded the Machine Wash Deluxe-plugin, as this is a free download, and see how it looks. The two mentioned plugins look and work the same way. I downloaded the demo of Machine Wash Deluxe and got it in Affinity. Everytime I open the plugin, error messages appear saying that the needed textures aren't available. I thought they were included in the demo and I can see I have them in the folder, but the plugin doesn't load them. Also, the first couple of times I launched the plugin, after a few clicks, the plugin would crash together with Affinity. Now, after testing for a few days, the plugin seems to hold up longer and only crashes Affinity sporadically. The plugin looks good, only the folders and names in the default settings (presets) are very small, almost unreadable. I guess that is just one part that doesn't scale correctly. I work with a resolution of 3840x2160 and a Windows-scale of 150%. So I guess that the Permanent Press 2 plugin should work in Affinity, but I'm still a bit hesitant to buy it with said remarks.
  8. Now I'm very interested in getting this Permanent Press 2 -plugin. Any news on this being compatible with Affinity Photo? As far as I can tell, there is no trial version so I have to spend the money without knowing if I can even use it. On the Mister Retro website, they say that it's compatible with Gimp. Should I install Gimp and use it as the host for this plugin?
  9. I've noticed that when I create a new file, after clicking OK on the 'New Document' panel, it now takes about 10 seconds before I see my blank page created. I remember that being instant in the past.
  10. Hello, you're not the only one seeing this. This bug was already reported on this forum here and here. Fortunately, this is already reported to the Serif tech team, let's hope they can fix it in the following update.
  11. Thanks for the replies. It's indeed the same issue, the lines get thicker if you increase the radius. Another problem for correcting (debugging) this, is that is doesn't always happen. I tried multiple times to recreate this bug, sometimes with a slightly other procedure or a different background behind the image and text. Sometimes it showed up, other times it didn't. So, in my experience, this bug isn't constant. You have a 50% chance it will occur...
  12. Hello everyone, I stumbled upon some odd behavior while testing out the photo persona functions in Publisher. I tried this in an old, aswell as in a new document, same result. - you have a picture in your publisher document - you go to the photo persona - you select the picture and apply a 'Depth of Field' Live filter - when playing with the radius, you get white lines over your image, actually they are spread upon the rest of your page too. I noticed that this happens everytime, except when I first apply an "Elliptical" filter. After that, there is no problem doing a "Tilt Shift". Doing the "Tilt Shift" first, I have the same problem. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
