  1. I wanted to see how this works in the desktop version, but could not see where to set export pixel dimensions from with the export persona.
  2. Sounds like this has turned into a feature request
  3. Thanks for the quick reply.Yes, but that would change the size of the slice and select less or more of the image. Maybe if I give you an example of what I'm trying to do, it would better explain. So I'd like to split an image in two, and export the 2 resulting images in different pixel dimensions for print, Facebook and Instagram. This is something I do regularly from the export page in the Photo persona when I'm wanting to export an image as a whole. So basically, I'm looking to define an area of an image and decide what pixel dimensions I want that area to export as, along with file format and quality. Hope that helps a bit. Maybe I'm going about this wrong?
  4. Hey, all. I'm pretty new to slices, so forgive my ignorance. Usually, I export to jpeg and tiff from AP and select my pixel dimensions (along with other options) in the export window. When exporting in the export persona, it doesn't seem there is an opportunity to select pixel dimensions. I'm assuming they get exported at the pixel dimensions of the slices themselves, but what if you want to use the slice tool just to define a split for a triptych or something? You can select quality and format presets, but not pixel dimensions. I'd imagine you could achieve the same with crop tool and multiple exports, but the export persona seems like a better solution if it had this ability. Thanks in advance if I'm missing something.
  5. I’ve been using gradient maps more and more lately and it would be super helpful to have access to swatches along with the other color tools within the gradient map adjustment. I was hoping I could at least use the eye dropper in gradient maps to select from the color studio (as a workaround), but the picker does not work that way. I think Designer lets you select a color from anywhere in the UI so hopefully this comes to Photo, in addition to my swatch request.
  6. I would love to try the macros in the iOS version, whenever the 1.7 beta comes around
  7. Something to add to improve the develop module would be an eyedropper for white balance off of a gray card image. Since Photo doesn't have a way of opening multiple images at once, you'd have to record the white balance from the gray card image, then open the images you want to edit and input those values, but t's a start. Maybe the DAM will come at the same time and we'll be able to apply to multiple images, wouldn't that be something. Non-destructively? OK, enough.
  8. Thanks for your reply. With what you describe, not sure why the gradient map step is necessary. Also, I’d like to have a visible mask that I can control beyond the tonal range selections that photo gives you. Lastly, I’ve been using the blend ranges, but it would be helpful to have a visual representation of the mask as I’m adjusting the parameters as in Nino’s method. Is there not a way to get a selection and consequent visible mask from the gradient map as he shows? Why does photo not have a rgb channel or am I missing something?
  9. If there’s a better way to do this in Photo, please enlighten me. I’d like to know how to achieve the methods in this video by Nino Batista (in Photoshop) within Photo on iPad. I like the control it affords you. Thanks in advance. https://youtu.be/hMY-b5nBjM8
  10. Is there a way to do this in Designer for iPad? Update: Nevermind, seems a simple copy, close, open, paste works. Awesome!
  11. Not sure why Serif can’t add their RAW engine now as it seems Adobe can use theirs in LR on iOS. I know in the past iOS was closed to only Apple RAW engine.
  12. Current beta does not have this functionality. Look forward to testing out with 1.7, I guess.
  13. i wouldn't hold your breath as Photoshop is coming to iPad next year, probably followed by Illustrator soon after. There's no incentive for Adobe to allow a competitor access to their cloud ecosystem.
  14. +1 for the C1 implementation, as that is what I'm used to. I'd take either at this point.
  15. Another great addition would be jpegmini integration. Apparently there is an iOS and Android SDK available.
  16. I just had a discussion on an FB group for Capture One and I once again suggested how great it would be to have Capture One on the iPad. Right away, someone brought up calibration. I mentioned X-Rite's ColorTrue Aware SDK and that developers just need to include this to take advantage of the calibrated icc profiles that can be created and stored on an iPad. Someone then mentioned that if this is so great why aren't there developers already taking advantage of this. Someone has to be first. That someone seems to be CamRanger of all people. My guess would be that Photoshop could be next as once it becomes available on iPad (if it's pretty close to the desktop version), pros will want calibration. Once Adobe is on board, others will follow. My question is, why do we need to wait for Adobe? Why can't Serif be the first professional content creation software developer to support this? Maybe if they do, and Photoshop maybe isn't so great on the first version, people will flock to Affinity Photo, Designer (and Publisher?) on iPad for a true pro workflow. Am I the only one who thinks this is a no-brainer?
  17. So much for more real estate. That's ok, there's plenty of space for modifier keys, guys
