  1. I was worried for a moment there that you were going Adobe, but you came to your senses amazingly quickly! Great decision! Looking forward to it.
  2. Look Serif, this is a very anti-consumer move you've made here. I do not enjoy being locked out of anything on the hard drive I own, for any reason. And frankly, I don't trust you (or Microsoft) enough to keep your stuff on my hard drive where I can't scan it for malware or simply inspect. If you treat your customers as enemies, do not be surprised when your customers treat you back the same way. I will not be purchasing V2. Not because of spite mind you, it's just that an app packaged this way has no hope of ever working on Linux, where I spend more and more time. Which is sad, because being quite satisfied overall with V1, I had already taken out my credit card to make the purchase when I saw V2 launched. Thank goodness I decided to take a short detour to the forums to see what's what. I hope you reverse this awful decision, and then we can do business.
  3. It seems I have resolved the issue. Previously, the software was installed in the default installation directory, in Program Files. It now runs after I've changed the install location to a different folder. My guess is that it was some kind of NTFS permission issue perhaps? Those folders have all kinds of silly restrictions on modern Windows. But that's just my speculation.
  4. I have now. Unfortunately it didn't help. All this wouldn't be so frustrating it there were a hint of some kind. How can we determine what in particular is failing?
  5. I always use DDU when I update drivers, so I have already done that. Unfortunately that's not it. But I appreciate you trying.
  6. @Komatös Apparently the system is fine: You mentioned a .net component is at fault. Perhaps it would be a good idea to determine which one?
  7. Same thing happened as when I deleted the whole Photo folder as I mentioned in the beginning. It showed me the EULA, which I accepted, then crashed. The 1.0 folder was recreated.
  8. @Komatös I have already attached the crash reports (and the .dmp files in there) to the opening post from the start. I installed the beta as you suggested. It crashes the same way.
  9. Nope. I don't have any of those installed on my system, and nVidia's Optimize for Compute Performance driver option seems to be gone as well.
  10. I have changed the <UseHardwareAcceleration> flag to False, but it still crashes in the same way. Thanks for trying though.
  11. I start the app, I see the splash screen, the process dies. No message or anything, just goes kaput. Things I have tried: - restarting my computer - repairing the app using the installer - uninstalling and reinstalling - deleting the Photo folder in %appdata% (After that last one, it didn't crash immediately. It showed me the EULA, then crashed.) - uninstalling 1.9.2 and installing 1.9.1. Still crashes. - uninstalling 1.9.1 and installing 1.9.0. Still crashes. - updating my graphics drivers (to nvidia 466.47. still crashes.) - running Windows update to download the latest patches. still crashes. - uninstalling 1.9.0 and installing 1.8.5. Works, but I'd rather not be using such an old version. I'm out of ideas. Help? Wasn't sure what would be useful, so I've attached my entire CrashReports folder. If that contains any sensitive data (like my serial), I'd ask the mods to kindly remove it after downloading a copy. Edit: I have just noticed that Designer 1.9.2 also crashes in the same way. Publisher 1.8.5 that I haven't updated in a while works fine however. CrashReports.zip
  12. It might be, it might not be. Segments can be straight or curved you know. I'm looking for a generic solution as it's something I need to do often. But assuming it's straight, how do I measure a segment's length so I can divide it by however many segments I want? How do I then align the segment to point exactly at another point? In Blender you can just use the "Subdivide" command and that's that.
  13. I'm probably just stupid or something, but I can't find a way to do this basic thing - In Affinity Designer, how do I split a curve segment into an arbitrary number of pieces of equal length? Failing that, how do I at least split it in half?
