catlover
Affinity Photo 1.7.2. (Mac) crashed and shutdown when I tried to scan a photo through : File > Acquire Image.... Scanning device = Brother LC985. It happened twice, at the very end of the process when I clicked the "Scan" button. Please have a look at the attached crash report (also forwarded to Apple (2x). Thanks, C.L. AffPhotoScan-crash.txt
Staff Callum Posted September 22, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 22, 2019 Hi Catlover, Thank you for supplying the crash log. Does this happen when you try to scan in a different app? Could you also please try reinstalling your scanner drivers? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. catlover
Hi, Callum, Thanks for the prompt reply. Tried the same on Pixelmator Pro & Photoshop Elements : neither scan presented a problem. Where would I find new scanner drivers ? I'll have a look but not today, sorry. I'll let you know in a follow-up post to this one, maybe a PM would be better. C.L.
catlover
Hello Callum, Downloaded & installed latest scanner drivers. Tested scanning same pic again. Scanner Brother AllinOne model DCP-J315W Pic = color. Result : 1.Scanning in TEXT mode (picture) 100dpi,and 300dpi B&W, NO image correction : no problem. 2.Scanning in B&W mode (picture) 100dpi and 300dpi, turns out as grey scale, 100dpi , NO image correction: no problem 3.Scanning in Color mode(picture) 100dpi and 300dpi, NO image correction : no problem 4.Scanning in Color mode(picture) 300dpi, Manual Image Correction : crash. Seems the problem crops up when doing a Manual color correction, I fiddled with the Temperature setting to get rid of an orange sheen (old color photo), which, BTW, I also did in my original post above. Latest crashreport attached.Hope this helps. C.L. AffPhotoScan-crash2.txt
Staff Callum Posted September 24, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 24, 2019 Hi Catlover, This is currently a known issue with manual image correction if you set it to automatic this shouldn't happen. We should have a fix available for this soon. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
