I am having trouble getting Affinity Designer setup.  It fails at the very end right before when the product key should be entered.  I have Windows 10 Home, Version 1903, Build 18362.356, 921 GB with 704 free.  I don't know if it matters, but, I noticed on the download page it is supposed to be 409.26 MB.  When it is downloaded it is only 390 MB (409,260,032 bytes).  I have tried the windows tool to repair corrupted install databases, running as administrator, clean startup, re-downloading, turning computer off and on.  I did notice on the setup log that there is an error "could not open key: HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\classes\.tga\OpenWithProgids".  Any help would be appreciated.  I am very anxious to try this program.

Please could you try creating a new user on your computer and see If the apps install onto that?

Thank you for your reply.  I tried creating a new user and it was another nightmare.  Start menu wouldn't open & etc.  I downloaded again anyway and tried to install.  It still gave me the "setup failed screen".

Is there a return policy for digital products?   I feel like I have thrown away $50.00 bucks.

Serif has a 14-day return policy for purchases from their store. If you're eligible for that you can email affinityreturns@serif.com to start the process.

But persevering a bit longer, and continuing to work with the Serif staff here (Callum, or others on staff who may have additional suggestions ) may end up resolving the issue, if you'd like to do that.

It seems odd that the Start menu wouldn't open for the new user you created. That can't be a Serif problem, though, and seems more like some kind of Windows issue.
