Vladimir78
Hi everyone, I'm trying to achieve to use a real gradient tool (brighter to darker) on pixel selections but i don't really understand how ! For example, i got a building picture (pixel layer) and i created different channels for different selections to adjust them separately. when i load a channel to a pixel selection, i create a new fill layer or a new pixel to add a gradient. At this point the results where really bad and the effect brighter to darker does not seem to work. Thanks for your help !
telemax
Hi, You can create gradient inside the layer mask. Different masks for different selections, no? Can you add screenshots? Vladimir78
if i create a mask it will work as "reveal or not" and not brighter to darker !
telemax
Like that? (no mask, just "Fill layer" with Multiply blending mode) Roger C 1 Quote Non-destructive Mask https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/150439-non-destructive-mask/Image layer & Pixel layer https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/146720-image-layer-and-pixel-layer/Brushes | Stars https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/135202-brushes-stars/
Vladimir78
@telemax, Many thanks ! But if i want to add this gradient tool just on a small part of a picture ( a selected part) ? On your picture, for exemple, just the 2 first rows ? Many thanks for your help.
telemax
- select pixels from building layer (or other selection) - invert selection (or not) - select fill layer and press delete Fill_Layer_Mask.mp4 Quote Non-destructive Mask https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/150439-non-destructive-mask/Image layer & Pixel layer https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/146720-image-layer-and-pixel-layer/Brushes | Stars https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/135202-brushes-stars/

wraptinweb
@telemax, this was a similar question to the one I wanted answered. I really appreciate the video clip response. It makes it very clear. This capability was the last hurdle before I purchase Affinity photo for myself.
