idgaff
Hi, I am having problems since upgrading to your latest version of Affinity designer and photo. I'm using a Macbook Pro Retina with yosemite 10.10.5 Whenever my system crashes I have never had any problems with the Dock icons getting corrupted. The icons corruption only started happening once I upgraded affinity. Your probably wondering how do I know its affinity is causing this issue. Well the new affinity logo becomes an over stretched looking version and that is what all my dock icons items look like. I have attached a screen shot so you can see what I am saying. Its quite annoying as the first time this happened it took me absolute ages to find a way to reset my icons back. Please advise. Staff Sean P Posted September 4, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 4, 2019 Hi idgaff, We do not do anything that interacts with the Dock in any way, we're just a regular app file. There is nothing in our software that will cause this to happen to your dock, however Google does suggest that this can happen with Yosemite, so looks to be an issue with Apple. Looking at your screenshot I cannot see the Affinity Logo stretched anywhere - the only icons I can really make out is Safari, Launchpad, Photos and Mail. Have you tried clearing the dock icon cache and restarting the Dock service?
idgaff
Hi Sean, Appreciate your response. I hear what you're saying. Clearing the cache alone doesn't work. It's a bit more involved. Like anything its easy when you know how. Just in case others have the same issue, open terminal and paste in the lines below one at a time then restart sorted. sudo find /private/var/folders/ -name com.apple.dock.iconcache -exec rm {} \; sudo find /private/var/folders/ -name com.apple.iconservices -exec rm -rf {} \; sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/com.apple.iconservices.store Regards Sean P
