dominik
After reading this post about 'relative transforms' and the possibility to do this in the transform panel with mathematic expressions I want to suggest to add to the transform panel a checkbox to duplicate an object with the transform. There also could be a key combination like ALT+ENTER to invoke this. Of course I know how to duplicate objects by CTRL+dragging with the mouse. My suggestion could be helpful with more precise design operations. I think I posted this some time ago already. Bring over the small calculator input devices from the iPad versions to indicate that mathematical expressions are available at all. d. Interesting thought. But not much simpler than Ctrl+J (or Cmd+J on Mac) followed by typing in the Transform panel, is it? The Ctrl+J duplicates the current selected item, and the Transform panel will then act on that duplicate. After that, repeated Ctrl+J performs a power duplicate, duplicating and transforming the duplicate automatically. I hae those transform commands in AI in mind that pop up a message box where you can enter values and check the 'create copy' option. It might be familiar to users switching from Adobe (and we know there are quite some ) to have such a checkbox in sight. d.
