Hi folks,

since there is no trial of publisher (please fix!!!), I have to ask here: I need to remove some elements from a pdf while leaving the rest of the document as is. I tried in designer and couldn't find a way to do it. Is there a way to do it in publisher (even in the presence of problems like missing fonts)?

thanks

Holger

Hi Holg,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Affinity Designer should be able to do it unless some of the elements were flattened/rasterised. What type of elements do you want to delete? Did you check the layers panel to see if there's several layers/ objects you can select/edit individually? If you attach the file or post a screenshot of the document opened in Designer with the Layers panel visible we should be able to help you better. Publisher will not do better if only you want is delete a few elements. Thanks.

The Calibri font is using a unique subsetting and will not map properly to itself.

I have converted the fonts on page 2 to curves. That will allow you to at least use the graph in your publication.

Having it as curves is fine but can I do that with Publisher? This is not the first time I have something like that and unlikely the last time. I am trying to figure out if Publisher fits my bill.

Hi Holg,
No, currently none of the Affinity apps support embedded fonts. You will have the same issue with Publisher unless you install the missing fonts on your system.

Not so. Calibri maps the glyphs so that it cannot be used, or substituted.
