Murali Krishna
Unicode fonts of languages other than English like Telugu, Hindi are not working on Affinity Designer, Photo and publisher. They are well supported on all Adobe products and Microsoft Office. Example fonts can be downloaded from here: http://telugufonts.in http://fonts.siliconandhra.org Aman and PaoloT
Ashwin_Chandarana
I also observed that Unicode fonts are displayed, but not rendered correctly in Affinity Publisher as Indesign. Any workaround?
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Murali Krishna and @Ashwin_Chandarana. The Affinity apps currently only support ANSI Indic fonts. sfriedberg
It would be nice if "the fine print" for the Affinity suite comprehensively listed the advanced typographic features it supports. For example, which OpenType features and/or table sets, which language encodings/scripts, etc. Do not want the markeing bullet points. Want the technical specs. If some/all of these are implied by an explicit reference to one or more specific text shaping engines, along with the conditions under which each engine is used, that's fine as long as the documentation can be found for those text shaping engines. I'm not asking for a roadmap, just an enumeration of what's actually supported today. That would not only help people in making purchasing decisions, it would tremendously assist people in setting up a proper workflow using what features are available. Having to scrape the forum for what does/doesn't work, and filter out misinformation, is not a very productive procedure.
toothsy
How does one type in Hindi in Publisher? Which fonts to install? Hindi can be typed correctly in other applications like Word, Powerpoint etc, but not in Publisher. Im new to this, any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
