Guest
Hello everyone, I am a former graphic designer and logo designer. I got Affinity Designer 2 years ago, for graphic design purposes. But now I don't do these anymore. I want to try my hand at digital art. I know Affinity Photo is better for digital art. Is Affinity Designer good enough? or do I need Affinity Photo? gdenby
Hi, Ahmed Yasir, The easiest thing to do is buy both. Designer by itself does a decent job making images that look like traditional media and methods. And there are a few tools, such as the vector brush, that are unavailable in Photo. But the work done in Designer can be transferred to Photo, and benefit from the layering effects, and modifying tools like the smudge brush. Since you already have AD, why not experiment with it for your new adventures in digital art? You can do quite a lot in the Pixel Persona, but if you find that it isn’t flexible enough you can always buy Affinity Photo (APh) at a later date. For a ten-day trial of APh, go here: https://affin.co/phototrial Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)
