Pub won't studio like to my designer 1.6.1 photo 1.6.7

Recommended Posts

My Publisher 1.7.1 studio links don't work with my designer 1.6.1 photo 1.6.7. No way to upgrade either from within Publisher. Do I need to buy new photo & designer? How much?

In which case it sounds as if you've made your Photo and Designer purchases from either Apple's Mac App Store or Microsoft's equivalent.  Return to the relevant store and get your free updates from there, same as normal…

Photo/Designer/Publisher: Affinity Store, v2.5.n release (and, since I have the space, the last v1 versions too).

  • Go to the Apple menu () in the top left corner of your screen
  • Select "App Store…"
  • There's a row of five icons across the top - click "Updates".  (If you can't see the row of five icons, go to the "Store" menu at the top of the screen and select "Updates" from there instead.

It might take a couple of minutes to finish scanning your machine but, sooner or later, it should list each of the outstanding updates that are available for you.  And this should include Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer.

Now, there's a gotcha here.  You must be signed into the App Store app with the same Apple ID that was used when you originally purchased Photo and Designer.  If you're not logged in with your Apple ID, or if somebody else is logged in, you'll possibly not see the two Affinity updates.  In which case, log back into the App Store app with the correct account.  The updates should then be listed.

I believe those two versions that you quoted have been out for over a year - so it's possible that you'll find many other apps on your Mac have got updates available too.  Once you locate the updates, either click the individual UPDATE buttons beside each app - or click the UPDATE ALL button at the top right.
