Sarah_Leigh Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Hiya, I've just treated myself to photo and designer and I work from a MacBook Pro. I just wondered if any of you had recommendations for a graphic mat/pen that I could sync with my MacBook to make drawing/editing easier than having to struggle with the keypad thanks :) Sarah - based in the UK Quote
Old Bruce Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 I am a fan of Wacom's drawing tablets. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
markw Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Me too, Wacom. I got an Intuos4 medium when they first came out, some years back. (It’s modern equivalent is the Intuos Pro range now I think) Why do I like it still? The main things for me with the Intuos Pro range are; 1: Customisation. Every single button on both Pen & Tablet can be customised to taste on a per app basis. Meaning each app you use with the tablet can have it’s own unique setup. And as you switch between apps, the tablet automatically loads your settings for the new app you just switched too. And the same goes for the On Screen virtual controls. So even if you have runout of physical buttons to program, you can have an unlimited number of on-screen ones to customise. 2: The Touch Ring. Zooming & Rotating the canvas are supper rapid using this. 3: Backups. All your customisation of the tablet can be exported as a presets file. So should some disaster befall your computer and you had to reinstall your tablet from scratch say, all the apps and settings you previously had setup can be reloaded in a few seconds. 4: The Intuos Pro pens support Tilt & Rotation. (Other brands can do this too, but I’m still a little surprised at how many other makes don’t have this feature, so do check for it if considering another make) Quote macOS 12.7.6 | 15" Macbook Pro, 2017 | 4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU | Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB | 16GB RAM | Wacom Intuos4 M
