hp201 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Hi, I have a self-created pdf file, that crashes AD 1.6.1 when I try to open it. Is there a possible fix? I attach an example of such file ... Best wishes, Heiko Spectrogram2.pdf Quote
Dan C Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Hi hp201, Welcome to the forums I'm not 100% certain why this PDF is crashing on Mac, I've opened it in the 1.6 version on Widows and the file opens correctly. The good news is that this crash has been fixed in our latest Mac beta, you can download this from the following link and install it alongside your current (1.6.1) version. I hope this helps! Quote
R C-R Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 I think the problem with 1.6.1 is the font used in the chart. In the beta, it is listed as ".SFNSText-Bold" with the leading period that normally indicates a hidden file. I'm not sure how you managed to use it to begin with -- not only would it normally be hidden, Apple's "SF" (for San Francisco) font families are not licensed for general use. Anyway, if you don't want to try the beta, Spectrogram2 font fix.pdf should open without issues in Affinity Designer 1.6.1. To create it I opened your original in the beta, & at the 'missing fonts' warning substituted Arial Bold for the Apple font, & then exported it back to PDF.
