A_B_C Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Hi everybody, just wondered why the Mesh Warp Tool and the Perspective Tool are treated differently with respect to the context toolbar. The settings of the first one are shown in the toolbar, while the settings of the second one appear in a dedicated window. I find the last one somewhat cumbersome. Why not put the settings of the Perspective Tool on the context toolbar as well? Would render the user interface less cluttered … Is there a reason for the current behavior? Cheers, Alex
billtils Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Hello @ A_B_C I have used both tools quite a lot and never noticed the difference. A possible explanation is that the settings for the Mesh Warp tool fit comfortably in the toolbar and the window option is a little easier for perspective manipulations? But not noticing a difference basically says it is not something that mattered for me. Retina iMac (4K display, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM) OS X 10.11.6 Capture One 10.
A_B_C Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Well, let me say so: it *does* matter for me … as long as I have my external screen connected to my Macbook, it does not turn out cumbersome to have an additional window in front of the editing area, but when I am "on the road", so to say, and have to quickly edit a photo on the comparably small screen of my Macbook, this is quite an annoyance … :( For these use cases I would definitely prefer the settings located on the context toolbar … I cannot see any reason why we should not have these settings there … perhaps the devs can shed some light on the matter … :)
billtils Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Your point about the pop-up in the Perspective tool is not unreasonable. But several of the tool adjustments are made using a pop-up window and I've become used to simply dragging them out the way  . As you say, it would be interesting to find out how these differences have come about. A_B_C 1 Retina iMac (4K display, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM) OS X 10.11.6 Capture One 10.
A_B_C Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Yes, I am dragging those windows constantly out of the way as well … but every click hurts … ;)
billtils Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 ;) indeed A_B_C! Retina iMac (4K display, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM) OS X 10.11.6 Capture One 10.
