Exporting to PDF; greyscale image keeps reverting to RGB

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have converted an image supplied in RGB to greyscale, to place in a book of (overwhelmingly) text, but no matter what I seem to do, when I export to PDF it seems to convert back to RGB. I am trying to export so everything is on one plate for printing.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug, (or something in development). Everything else seems to be working pretty well - so thank you Affinity!

Would be glad of any advice.

Set the Publisher document to greyscale in the document setup. File > Document Setup... . Choose the colour tab and just choose greyscale from there.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

That would convert the entire document to grayscale... which is fine if that is what he wants...

How did you do the conversion?

Hi, thanks so much Old Bruce and fde 101 for replies.

I do want the whole document greyscale, and I did (eventually!) find the document set up and change this to Grey/8 and Greyscale D50.

I converted the image in affinity photo. I attach a screenshot.

Just noticed - This image I exported as a jpg and placed this in the Publisher doc. Another image I placed the af file, and I think this worked. It's difficult to be certain because I'm relying on the reported comments of the prepress people at the printers.

Thanks again

Westrow
