Berndpu
Hi, i just came along another .ai file that opens only as a white square - where xnview for example Displays it correctly. Layers Show a small preview of the design - but the file itself does not. Any Ideas how to handle this? Or is this a compat. issue?
Staff Dan C Posted February 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 21, 2019 Hi Berndpu, Welcome to the forums Could you please upload a copy of this file so we can look into it for you? It sounds as though there may not be a PDF embedded (or correctly embedded) in the file, so Affinity cannot interpret the data correctly, but I will need to see the file to confirm this! Staff Dan C Posted February 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 21, 2019 Thanks for that, although the document looks blank, it is simply that the objects are not on the canvas. You may need to change view mode to see this, (under View>View Mode>Clip to Canvas) with this option off you can find the objects off to the bottom left of the canvas - see below. Staff MEB Posted February 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 21, 2019 Hi Berndpu, Welcome to Affinity Forums Another quick way to place the objects correctly on the canvas is selecting the main layer in the Layers panel, then going to the Transform panel and set the X and Y coordinates to 0 (zero).
