Trying to develop .NEF files > Crash

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I am experiencing strange crashes with RAW files from a Nikon D3500 entry-level DSLR camera (Affinity Photo 1.6.12.86, iPad Pro 12.9" first generation, 128Gb, iOS 12.1.3). Every time I try to open such a file from the file explorer, the Importing … message will show, but after a few seconds, Affinity Photo will immediately crash, although the camera model seems to be supported under my version of iOS.

Could it be that there is an error on my side? The latest beta of Affinity Photo on the desktop opens these files almost fine, though the camera is not on the list of natively supported devices. O.o

Thank you, Alex :)

Hi A_B_C,
It's happening the same here. NEF files from Nikon D3500 crash Affinity Photo for iPad (same Affinity Photo version and iOS as you). Note that Apple Photos on iPad isn't also able to open them (just shows a preview) so I'm not sure this is a problem with Affinity Photo specifically (despite the camera being listed as supported on iOS), still this shouldn't crash the app. I will log this to be looked at.
