rb61 Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 (edited) I probably don't know enough to properly ask my question, but here goes.. I am very new to the digital world. I tried ON1 and found the only part that I liked was the image organizer function. I now have Affinity Photo and have found it to be a very good match for what I need. Can I use ON! to organize images and export those images directly in Affinity Photo for post processing. If not, what would be the best method of using these two applications together? As I stated earlier, I know very little and would like some basic direction on what is considered best practice in this situation. I don't know where to start. Thanks for any assistance that you can provide. OS 10.13.6 Edited December 18, 2018 by rb61 left out platform Quote
firstdefence Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Which ON1 app are you using? There should be an option within ON1 to set a default app for editing. Staff MEB Posted December 18, 2018 Staff Posted December 18, 2018 Hi rb61, Welcome to Affinity Forums In ON1 Photo RAW (2019), right-click the image thumbnail in the Browser or when you are seeing it individually full screen and select Send to Other Application. Select Affinity Photo from the dialog that will appear, then choose if you want to Edit a Copy with Settings Applied or Edit Original in the next dialog. You can also specify which format (PSD, TIFF etc), Colour Space and Bit Depth you want here clicking the Copy Options link almost on bottom. Finally click the Edit button (Note: From now on you should have a new menu command in ON1 right-click menu labelled Send to Affinity Photo.). A duplicate of the image will be created and sent to Affinity Photo. Edit the image as you see fit in Affinity then export it in the same format it was sent to Affinity Photo (the one you selected in the Copy Options) rewriting the existing duplicate ON1 has created for you. Thank you for the detailed instructions. This type of help is invaluable to me and made my day a very good day. What could be better? The Workbook just arrived. (as a former college instructor, I would expect this book to sell for hundreds of dollars based on fairly recent experience in selecting textbooks for my classes) Resources like these helped immensely in selecting Affinity Photo after trying and buying several other applications. Thanks again! Edited December 18, 2018 by rb61 typo Quote
