Here is a 2019 calendar, one month per page, intended for Affinity Publisher, into which you can insert your own pictures. The P1 version will show the full picture in the frame and the P2 version fills the frame with the picture. I made these for my own use and you're free to use them for personal use. I take no responsibility for any errors! The calendar blocks were originally made using the wizard in PagePlus. If you have a wire binding machine (and some calendar loops) you can do a "proper" binding, personally I just use a decorative bulldog clip. 'Hope it's of use to someone!

Thank you PaulEC for the two publisher templates.  I have managed to use (after much trial and error) both to produce a current calendar for 2019 (a month per page) using my own photos and event information.  It was a good way to start finding my way around Publisher - my first attempt in fact.   File attached will show the result for January 2019 starting with the P1 version.  Because my photos are in 3:2 aspect ratio this meant a large gap between the adjusted picture frame and the monthly details and it took me a while to find out how to adjust the size of the monthly details and how to fill new details in the day squares but I got there so thank you again.

The photo used appears to be quite noisy but zoom to full page and it looks fine and it prints fine too - might be something to do with Acrobat Reader.

Looks good! - Glad you found the template useful. Hopefully Publisher will have a built in calendar wizard at sometime in the future.

Hi,

I'm still using PagePlus X8 to do my calendars, as I find the calendar wizard therein very useful. I wonder why Serif are putting up such resistance to including same in Affinity? It isn't niche, and it can't be rocket science.

Only when that has happened shall I upgrade to Affinity suite.

If the only thing you use DTP software for is to create a calendar once a year, then why would you consider upgrading to Affinity? If you need DTP software for anything else, why worry so much about it not having a calendar "wizard", it's not a major problem! For most purposes Affinity Publisher is far superior to PagePlus, it just lacks a few features that PP had.

Every year I create my own calendar (mainly because I like to include a lot of events, and I like to use my own pictures). Way back I used to use the calendar wizard in Word, then I started using PagePlus instead.  Since Affinity Publisher came out I've been creating my calendars in PagePlus, saving as a PDF and then importing it into APub to add the events and images etc. I could do it all in PagePlus, but I much prefer using APub.

Creating your own calendar is not a big deal; you don't need to use a "wizard", it just saves a bit of time and effort.

Hi PaulEC,

Thanks for your comment, it is very helpful and much appreciated! Whilst it's true I used to do a fair bit of DTP, those days are gone, and I am now only doing my wife's calendar, and the occasional letter, so your observation that it would be pointless for me to stray from PagePlus X8, is a point well made.

Like yourself I use all my own photos, and it's just a monthly A4 print with a small bit in the corner for the calendar itself, and a smaller photo underneath. If any of the photos need adjustment beyond cropping, I've got PhotoPlus.

What actually irks me so, is that Serif have seen fit to exclude the convenience of a calendar wizard from their suite of current software.

Cheers,

Ken.
