Cutting out hair

I searched all the cutting out vid tutorials I could find, but couldn't solve this. When cutting out a person using the select

brush, to put into another image, which I've mostly got the hang of, the problem is it misses out some of the hair, especially 

if they have sticky out bits - I've been sorting it by zooming in really close to add all the individual 'hair tufts' individually, but as you can imagine,

that takes forever! is there a quicker/easier way to do it?
