I have only just heard of Affinity Serif and am wondering whether I should transfer from InDesign? I produce a swathe of print from business cards to a 32 page full colour magazine and resent InDesign's cloud 'rental', which I think is nothing less than robbery. Is Serif a match for InDesign? Will it work for me in its present form? Should I wait a bit as I understand there are still teething problems?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Douglas. :)

Serif’s new DTP app, Affinity Publisher, is currently in public beta and available to try for free. Why not install it and see if it meets your needs?

Hello Dougmca,
Welcome to this forum.
I would recommend, download the Trial Affinity Programms and to testing
That is the only way to judge whether the program complies with personal requirements.

Affinity Photo 2.6:         Affinity Photo 1.10.6:

Affinity Designer 2.6:    Affinity Designer 1.10.6:

Affinity Publisher 2.6:   Affinity Publisher 1.10.6:

Windows 11 Pro  (Version 24H2 Build (26100.3915)

That would work well for the business cards and small documents. I’m not so sure about the 32-page brochure.

The trial version, which expires ten calendar days after the first time you launch it, can be downloaded from here: https://affin.co/designertrial
