ErikB13
Hello, I have some logos that I wanted to modify to use to my liking. When I open them, they are read only. Is there away to change this to make changes?
firstdefence
Which Operating System are you using? Do you another app to open these files in such as GIMP to see if they open without read only? Just to note, Affinity accesses the PDF information within the file and does not open a PSD natively, so if there are effects that are specific to Photoshop you will not be able to edit them. The Affinity apps don’t understand Photoshop ‘Smart Objects’, but otherwise they should be able to open any PSD file. The problematic Adobe format is AI (for Illustrator) where Affinity apps can only read the PDF stream, not the native AI data. For export to PSD, it’s important to note that the Affinity apps cannot export editable PSD text, so any text will be rasterized. There are also layer Fx, in particular the pattern section within Photoshops layer fx that are not interpreted because Affinity doe not have a Pattern/texture overlay within the its layer Fx. Photoshop styles in a PSD file will not import well, they invariably require the .asl file for the included textures and Affinity can't import an .asl file.
