Harley1122 Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Hi I want to convert images to a smaller Mb size but maintain the pixel ratio, any tips? Quote
v_kyr Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Hi, the file size of an image is the digital size of the image file, measured in kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB), or gigabytes (GB). File size is proportional to the pixel dimensions of the image. Another factor that affects file size is the file format. Because of the varying compression methods used by GIF, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF file formats, file sizes can vary considerably for the same pixel dimensions. Similarly, color bit-depth and the number of layers and channels in an image affect file size. - So if you want to keep the pixel ratio you should try to use a very compact file format with good compression handling in order to lower file sizes.
