For the curious, system palettes can be created in the Apple Color Picker app, in Affinity's Swatches panel, & in other Mac apps that support the Apple Color Picker. There are several built into the Mac OS that cannot be modified, plus user created ones that are placed in the per user Library > Colors folder (~/Library/Colors/) that can be.
