Problem Description:

Masks cannot be deleted if disclosure triangle of masked layer or object is open.

Reproduction Steps:
Select an object or layer. Click on "Mask layer" in the layer palette. Click on the disclosure triangle to show the mask below the object/layer (if not already open).

Observed Results:
There's no (obvious?) way to delete the mask. Selecting the mask in the layer palette also selects its parent object/layer.

Expected Results:
It should be possible to select the mask alone in the disclosed state. It took me quite a while to figure out how to get rid of a mask without also deleting the masked object - the only workaround I found is to close the triangle, then click on the mask icon next to the layer/object icon and press "backspace".

Ah, good to know! It's a case of missing documentation then - I ran into it while reading the AD help and trying out things ...
